RATING: 8.25/10 REVIEW: I honestly liked this movie. There was nothing much to the story but it was fun and entertaining to watch. Anna Kendrick was able to showcase her funny and weird personality here. The main issue I had was with the instant-love that happened with Martha and Francis. Still, they were fun to watch. Also, the cinematography was beautiful and the choreography they had for the fights was great considering that it's not really an action film.
SHOULD YOU WATCH IT: Yes, if you want something simple and fun. WOULD I WATCH IT AGAIN: Yes (Already watched this 2x).
I'm amazed at Martha's ignorance about things. She managed to convince herself that Francis was just kidding about what his job was even though he really appeared as a suspicious character in the beginning.
I felt bad for Martha's roommates. They had to put up with her weird antics.
I did not like the mob family that was included in the story. They're so stupid I cannot even. I'm glad that it was Martha who finished them in the end.
I really like Steve. He was a fun character who's just there for the money. I'm glad that they befriended him and he got to collect the bounty for Hopper.
It's funny that Martha ended up as a hitman too but you could see that coming from miles away.
SYNOPSIS: Duke and Leo must set aside there differences to save each other.
RATING: 3/10
REVIEW:You'd think that a movie starring Tommy Lee Jones and Morgan Freeman would be at least alright but you'd be wrong. The story wasn't something new. It wasn't funny or entertaining. The only thing that I liked was Leo's Red Ford Ranger (it was beautiful af). I don't remember much of what happened which is probably because my brain didn't want to keep it.
SHOULD YOU WATCH IT: Absolutely, not. WOULD I WATCH IT AGAIN: Absolutely, not.
I was really devastated when the Ford Ranger was destroyed.
The beginning was alright. They had their random competitions but when things started to get serious because someone was trying to kill Duke, everything went wrong. Nothing felt serious or funny.
I also didn't like that they fought over Suzie like she was a trophy. They should have just made her choose or something.
SYNOPSIS: A story inspired by the life of PT Barnum.
RATING: 9/10 REVIEW: I don't know much about the life of PT Barnum but the story here was very interesting and entertaining. However, I felt like the transition between some of the scenes somehow felt wrong. Some stories just pop-up without any proper introduction at all. Still, I really liked the songs of this musical. The only one I didn't like is the 'Never Enough' song because it annoyed the hell out of me after hearing it a lot. Also, the choreography of the characters and the cinematography was very amazing and beautiful to watch. The cast did an amazing job especially Hugh Jackman.
SHOULD YOU WATCH IT: Definitely, yes! Especially if you love musicals. WOULD I WATCH IT AGAIN: Absolutely!
I really didn't like that they had to introduce Jenny Lind's character. I mean, sure they had to create a problem but why did it have to be her? I dislike her character so much. It's probably why I hate the song 'Never Enough' too.
One of the most unforgettable scenes for me was when Charity's father slapped PT Barnum as a child - 'Thank you for your honesty'. I still can't believe that Charity's father is Azazel from Supernatural. That explains a lot. Just kidding haha.
It's funny that our reaction to the scene where PT and Charity danced on the rooftop was for them to be careful. They were really on the edge of the rooftop! I cannot even.
We were curious in the beginning how PT was able to keep communicating to Charity. He was very poor after his father died. It was funny when it was revealed that he just slipped the letters in a mailman's bag.
I really didn't care much for Phillip and Anne's relationship but I did like their song.
I really like the performers PT hired especially Lettie. I love her voice.
This is the first movie where I saw Zac Efron sing again (after High School Musical) so I was amazed that he could sing well.
I can see the issues that some of the people had in this movie. About how PT exploited the performers for his own personal gain but if you think about it, he also gave them a chance to appreciate themselves and make themselves shine.
"I just kept replaying that scene. Hoping against hope that the ending would change."
SYNOPSIS: A well-known author suddenly vanishes.
RATING: 7.6/10
REVIEW:
I liked the story. It was interesting and kind of mysterious. It will make you want to know what happened to Sidney to make him run away and hide.
I really liked the story because it will show you that there's only so much a person could take.
Majority of the scenes in the first part wasn't really explained much up until the latter half of the movie which made it feel too long.
The thing that probably messed things up was the incredibly confusing timeline. It was kind of hard to differentiate which timeline was currently being shown (since there were three and Logan Lerman looked kind of the same for two of them).
The cinematography was beautiful. There were beautiful shots here and there especially of Elle Fanning and Logan Lerman.
SHOULD YOU WATCH IT: Yes, if you want something interesting and heartbreaking (has a bit of a slow pacing). WOULD I WATCH IT AGAIN: Maybe someday.
You'd really understand why Sidney decided to run away and hide. He managed to survive:
The guilt of ruining someone's life (with him losing Brett's tape and the kid committing suicide because of his book).
Losing his wife and child in a situation where he couldn't do anything but watch them die.
I suspected from the moment Brett and Sidney dug up something that it was going to be tape of a sexual act. I was confused as to what happened to Brett's plan when he committed suicide. I hate Sidney's mom for burning the tape.
I was confused as to why Sidney's mother felt a bit pervy towards him. I thought she was abusing her child at some point to be honest. I'm glad Sidney left.
God, I cried when the movie showed why Sidney wasn't with Melody. I thought they just broke up seeing as how it was shown that Sidney had an affair but things got worse when they got together and we get to see Melody die along with their unborn child. Things got worse because Sidney was by her side as he slowly watched die.
It broke my heart to see that Sidney's goal all along was to reach the house they dreamed on going on the time they planned on going there. It broke my heart because he just reached his goal and then died. At least he was with Melody now.
SYNOPSIS: A woman falls in love with a water creature.
RATING: 8/10
REVIEW:
I really like Guillermo del Torro's movies. He makes weird but amazing movies and this is one of those.
I like the cinematography of this movie. It was full of beautiful scenes.
I really like the cast of this movie. I don't know most of them except for Octavia Spencer and Doug Jones but they were very suitable to their roles and were amazing.
del Torro knows how to create a character that you will hate so much.
Honestly, the story was a bit weird but hey, it's a Guillermo del Torro movie. SPOILER ALERT: There was one part of the movie that might make it less weird though.
I love Elisa's friends - Zelda and Giles. I love her bond with each of them. I love how they supported her.
Overall, I love the movie. There were some cringe-worthy moments here and there but there were more beautiful and touching scenes.
SHOULD YOU WATCH IT: Yes, if you want something weird but beautiful. WOULD I WATCH IT AGAIN: Probably, yes.
I really hate Richard. First, he tortured the amphibian man so much (kudos to the amphibian man for removing his fingers). Second, he made disturbing approaches towards Elisa because of his creepy fetish even though he has a wife. Third, he killed Dimitri. Fourth, he threatened to hurt Elisa and her husband. Lastly, he tried to kill Elisa and the amphibian man.
The scene where Richard removed his decaying fingers was very disgusting.
I felt very sad when Dimitri died but he should have kept the information about where the amphibian man was staying! Why did he have to rub it in Richard's face! (Also, disgusting scene where Dimitri was shot in the cheeks and then Richard tortured him using the hole in his face).
Really unbelievable scene where Elisa managed to fill her bathroom with water. It's not like it doesn't have holes. But hey, it made a beautiful scene.
I felt very sad when the amphibian man ate Giles' cats. Cats are cute creatures!
I love Giles. He was very supportive towards Elisa. I hate the guy who rejected his advances (at least he was just banned from the store). I love that the amphibian man managed to heal him and make his hair grow.
I love Zelda's reaction when Elisa told her about the amphibian man and their relationship.
I like the romance and bond that developed between Elisa and the amphibian man. I just didn't want to remember their sex scene (cringe-worthy).
Because of the ending, I believe that Elisa was a bit like the amphibian man. Especially since she was mute and had scars on her neck (Maybe, they were the same but she managed to adapt staying in land?). I love that they were able to escape to the water and live together peacefully (or I think).
"Who knows what any man is capable of? We all wear pantomime masks, do we not?"
SYNOPSIS: A detective tries to find a serial killer while trying to free a woman accused of murdering her own husband.
RATING: 7.5/10
REVIEW:
I found the cinematography creepy, gruesome, dark, and amazing. It reminded me of Sweeney Todd.
Plot-wise, it wasn't awesome but it was alright. I think something doesn't quite match the synopsis that was given though.
The pacing was quite slow so it got kind of boring. Still, I was intrigued as to how things would unfold.
I really didn't expect the twist to come or maybe I really didn't think that there would be one.
I like the short musical parts. It kind of reminded me of Sweeney Todd and Les Miserables.
The cast was amazing in their performances especially Douglas Booth as Leno. I love him and his scenes. It was weird but really amazing.
SHOULD YOU WATCH IT: Sure, if you want something mysterious and dark (but does have a bit of a slow pacing). WOULD I WATCH IT AGAIN: Probably not unless someone invited me to watch it with them.
I really liked the random humor between Kildare and the Constable.
I really didn't expect that Elizabeth would be the killer. Honestly, I thought it would be Leno.
The scene with uncle was very cringe-worthy to watch.
I hated that Elizabeth's husband was having an affair Aveline (and Elizabeth knew). Sure, she did not have the usual marriage but what the hell?
I really hated Aveline. She ruined Elizabeth's play (maybe if she didn't do that, Elizabeth wouldn't have killed all those people). What happened in the end was good riddance.
I really don't understand why Elizabeth murdered all those people. Oh yeah, she just wanted fame but arghh I wanted a reason why she chose those specific people.
SYNOPSIS: Four friends decided to get together again.
RATING: 6.8/10
REVIEW:My initial reaction to this was really positive but now that I did think about it, it had issues. The story wasn't really that original but the movie was entertaining enough. I really liked the bond those four had and I love that they managed to talk about their issues and resolved them in the end. There were cringy moments and there were moments where I wanted to hit two of the characters (Ryan for not prioritizing herself, Dina for just being ugh) but I really did enjoy some parts. Plus, I found Lisa adorable.
SHOULD YOU WATCH IT: Sure, if you want something simple and fun. WOULD I WATCH IT AGAIN: Probably not.
GIF NOT MINE.
Stewart such an asshole. He had everything and then he had to ruin things because he couldn't keep it in his pants. I'm glad that Ryan ended up with Julian. He's so much better and you can see that he really did care about Ryan.
Omg Lisa. The parts where Lisa got wild was so shocking.
I'm glad that Ryan got to keep her job alone. She deserved it.
I really didn't like Dina's character. She annoyed me most of the times.
I felt bad for Sasha. Ryan thought she was that low to betray her bestfriend. Shame on Ryan.
I find it weird that they suddenly just decided to make up and be friends again. They fought hard and then poof, everything is okay.
SYNOPSIS: A guy discovers that he could travel back in the past and he tries to that to get himself out of the friendzone from his bestfriend.
RATING: 8/10
REVIEW:It was an entertaining movie. The concept wasn't original but the way the story panned out was very interesting to see. There were funny, touching, and heartbreaking moments. You can see the ending coming but it was still fun. It made things realistic. I was annoyed at the lead guy - I really did not like him but it didn't stop me from liking the movie. Also, Alexandra Daddario <3 <3 <3
SHOULD YOU WATCH IT: Sure, if you want something fun and simple. WOULD I WATCH IT AGAIN: Most likely not. Unless someone wanted me watch it with them.
I really liked the twist that no matter how many times he tries to repeat the past, he still didn't end up with Avery. Even when he was engaged to her, you could see that they weren't meant to be. I'm glad that he realized that and that he got together with Carrie. I liked them more together.
I loved that they showed different circumstances when Noah was trying to change the past. It made things more entertaining even some things he did were cringy.
SYNOPSIS: Addison Schacht decided to investigate on his own about the death of his friend Kevin.
RATING: 3/10
REVIEW:This movie really didn't make much sense to me. I don't know what's the purpose of it. Ansel Elgort and Chloe Moretz are both amazing actors and the only reason why I watched this movie was because of them. The plot wasn't anything new. I didn't care much for the characters because we knew nothing about them. We were just led to believe by Addison that Kevin wouldn't do anything like that. I think at some parts Addison made stupid and rash decisions that could have almost gotten him killed. I felt like I wasted my time after watching it.
SHOULD YOU WATCH IT: If you don't want to waste your time, no.
WOULD I WATCH IT AGAIN: Definitely not.
I liked seeing familiar faces from the cast such as David Strathairn (the guy from the Spiderwick Chronicles) and Catherine Keener (Percy Jackson's mom).
Chloe Moretz and Ansel Elgort looked kind of awkward together or maybe that was purposely made on some of the scenes.
Why the hell would you approach a person who you suspected killed your friend (and sells drugs) alone?? I mean, do you have a death wish?
Addison's actions really do not make any sense. I don't sense any hardcore motivation to go that hard to find out about who killed someone unless you're a professional or you're insane.
I honestly don't remember much of what happened (which is probably good for me because I didn't like the movie).
SYNOPSIS: A group of emoji's go their way inside the phone to repair a fellow emoji who is about to be removed from the system.
RATING: 6.3/10
REVIEW: I really don't know why many people hated this movie. I honestly enjoyed it though maybe because I wasn't at the mood to over think stuff when I watched it. It was just a simple movie with a simple story and I found it quite fun. I really liked the animation. I found it bright and entertaining. I also loved high-five so I enjoyed his humor even if it was corny.
SHOULD YOU WATCH IT: If you want something bright and very light, yes. WOULD I WATCH IT AGAIN: Probably not. Unless I want to show it to someone else.
SPOILERY THOUGHTS HERE:
I really like that they were able to rescue high-five.
The boss emoji was psycho as fuck.
I like that it was revealed that Gene's father was also like him. They both couldn't control their emotions.
I like that it was revealed that Jailbreak was one of the princess emoji.
SYNOPSIS: A gypsy and a deformed bell ringer teams up together to overthrow an oppressive leader. RATING: 8.8/10
REVIEW:
I really like the story and the touching parts. It was also full of issues about society and will really get you into thinking afterwards.
I really like the songs. Especially the ones with the Latin chants. It sounded amazing and it suited the scenes.
I like the scenes. Especially during the fight. The church of Notre Dame looked so beautiful and amazing.
Quasimodo is just a precious person that should be protected at all cost. He's so kind towards others even after all that happened to him.
Frollo's expression and reactions are so meme worthy. They are either too funny to look at or too infuriating.
A nod to the gargoyles named Victor and Hugo (in reference to Victor Hugo, the author of the book).
SHOULD YOU WATCH
IT: Yes. It was an amazing movie.
It's funny that the archdeacon only shows up when one of the lead characters need someone to save them from death.
The line that says 'saw corruption everywhere except within' really summarizes Frollo. He's just so infuriating with his purify against sin thoughts when he himself is so sinful. He murdered a woman without remorse and lied to her son that she abandoned him. I really hate that guy.
I like that Esmeralda apologized to Quasimodo for what she did. She's to blame for triggering the events in the movie but without her, the citizens wouldn't have been able to start revolting against Frollo.
I really like the ending. They overthew Frollo and then Quasimodo was accepted by the people.
It was funny to look at the statues that were supposed to be judging Frollo because they really looked like they were judging Frollo.
The final battle scene looked so awesome. I love the fact that they added the molten lead scene. It will just make you ask afterwards what happened because everything looked so clean.
I hated that Esmeralda fell in love with Phoebus even after all the things Quasimodo did for her. I get that it was not the point but I would have really liked if they ended up together or if they didn't do their flirting in front of Quasimodo. Thank you very much.
It broke my heart to see people bullying Quasimodo and throwing stuffs at him. He didn't deserve that.
Those three gargoyles are such bad influences towards Quasimodo but they're just too funny.
I really like the fact that they named Phoebus' horse Achilles and Phoebus made him heel. It was so punny.
SYNOPSIS: A more realistic adaptation of Cinderella. RATING: 10/10 REVIEW:
NOTE: I have watched this movie a lot. I can't even count how many times.
I really love this movie. This is the best adaptation of Cinderella for me (it's even better than the original one for me).
I love how to story panned out. It's more realistic and there was a relationship even before the ball. Plus, there was justice in the end.
Danielle is an amazing character. She's not passive like the typical Cinderella. You would really cheer for her throughout the movie. I love that she played by Drew Barrymore.
Also, I really like the historical setting of the movie. It gave the movie a much more realistic tone.
SHOULD YOU WATCH
IT: Yes!! Absolutely!!
BEST MOMENTS:
When Danielle fought for Maurice's release.
Da Vinci's first meeting with Danielle.
When Danielle carried the prince away from the gypsies.
When Danielle punched Marguerite.
Spanish princess moment.
Da Vinci as the man who opened the door.
When Danielle threatened to kill Pierre if he didn't release her.
I really loved the ending. There was justice. Marguerite and Rodmilla suffered the same fate they put Danielle on.
Jacqueline was an adorable character. She helped Danielle whenever she can. I love that she ended up with Laurent.
Drew Barrymore was really pretty all dressed up in the ball. I hated that Rodmilla ripped her wings.
Anjelica Houston did a wonderful job as the stepmother. She was mean in a not on purpose way. That's just how she is.
SYNOPSIS: A college student repeats the day of her birthday where she gets murdered. RATING: 8.3/10 NON-SPOILERY REVIEW:
I honestly thought at first that I wouldn't enjoy this. I don't really like senseless deaths of characters in a movie but this one was really fun to watch. You would feel bad for Tree and you would grow to care for her. I love how things turned out and how she discovered the truth. I really liked the twist they added. Carter was a wonderful person and I found Jessica Rothe really pretty. PS: The baby mask was really scary. GIF NOT MINE.
I felt really bad for Tree after she killed the serial killer and then the day just started all over again. I really didn't expect it to be her roommate because she was kind of nice in the beginning. Giving Tree the cupcake. I had no idea she had an ulterior motive.
I really loved Carter. I loved his chemistry between Tree and the way he took care of her. I'm glad that they got together in the end though he was terrible when he played the prank on her the next day.
I felt like the doctor/teacher was really creepy. I really thought at some point that he was the serial killer.
I love how Tree used some of her lives to mess with other people, help other people and change her personal style. It was fun up until she realized getting killed took a toll on her body.
HOME AGAIN
SYNOPSIS: Three guys move in the home of a mother with her two children. RATING: 7.5/10 NON-SPOILERY REVIEW:
The story is somewhat really weird but the cast made it work. Inviting three strangers to live with you is creepy and dangerous. However, if you don't overthink it, the movie was quite fun. I like Alice and I like how she managed her life. The three guys were also wonderful and helpful towards her and I love the bond that they created. I love each of the personality of the guys. They were also able to bond with Alice's children which was amazing. I was shocked to see Nat Wolff here and Pico Alexander was so handsome. I was also shocked to see Michael Sheen.
It's funny that Teddy punched Austen because he was worried for Alice but it was devastating that she told them to leave because of it.
I felt sad for Harry after Alice stopped what they were doing because he didn't appear at her event.
It was creepy that Austen just suddenly appeared again and it doesn't seem like he really wanted to get back together with her. He just wanted to be with them because he was comfortable there.
TAKING LIVES
SYNOPSIS: Cops try to catch a serial killer with the help of a FBI profiler. RATING: 10/10 NON-SPOILERY REVIEW:
I have watched this before but I still cannot emphasize how much I love this movie. The story was very intriguing and very gruesome. This is one of the movies that has an amazing twist in the ending. It was just so awesome to watch. I love how the story panned out. Plus, Angelina Jolie was very pretty here.
I was really shocked when it was revealed that it was Costa who was the serial killer especially after he just had sex with Illeana the night before. Her whole world was shattered by that revelation especially because she really liked him. She couldn't believe how wrong she was. Ethan Hawke was amazing in his performance as the deranged Costa.
The scene where Costa beheaded his mother was so brutal. It was so gruesome.
I was screaming in the ending part where Costa found the pregnant Illeana. Especially after he stabbed her in the belly. I was really devastated at that point. I really thought he wouldn't hurt his children. I was glad when it was revealed that she wasn't pregnant at all but she was just pretending to catch him.
ROCKETMAN
SYNOPSIS: A spacecraft designer was given the chance to join a team of astronauts going to Mars. RATING: 9.5/10
NON-SPOILERY REVIEW:
My boyfriend made me watch this and I really loved it. Even though it is an old movie, this is the first time that I watched it. It was so fun. Fred's quirkiness made me laugh out loud so many times. He was obnoxious at times but he was also endearing. I enjoyed how ignorant he was to what he was doing and he just wanted to be himself. He was weird in a fun way and I loved seeing him fulfill his dreams.
The Mars thing wasn't focused so much but Fred's action especially in the first part was very entertaining to watch. He was what made the movie really enjoyable.
I love the bond he created with his fellow astronauts. Especially with the monkey. He was willing to share his oxygen as long as the monkey live.
I love that he ended up with Julie. They were cute together.
SYNOPSIS: A boy is trying to fix a automaton to find out more about his father's death. RATING: 7.3/10 NON-SPOILERY REVIEW:
I found this movie quite interesting but I did not expect things to go there. I thought it would lead to a magical adventure and not some journey on the past and history. It also had quite a slow pacing. Still, I enjoyed it. It had a beautiful cinematography and it made me feel a lot of things for the characters. It also had a wonderful cast. So many famous actors and Harry Potter cast. I was shocked.
I thought that we would get to see Jude Law again and that he was still alive. I was wrong. My heart broke for Hugo because he wasn't able to understand why his father had to die.
Every time the Station Inspector chased Hugo was suspenseful especially after he found out that Hugo's uncle is dead and he almost sent Hugo to an orphanage.
I was glad that the Station Inspector ended up with the girl he wanted and his personality became better.
It was interesting to see Asa Butterfield so young. He was a great actor and I can see why he became successful.
I was shocked to see Helen McCrory here. I did not recognize her. She looked so different from her character Narcissa Malfoy in Harry Potter.
DUPLEX
SYNOPSIS: A married couple moves into a duplex house where an old woman currently resides. RATING: 7/10 REVIEW:
I really loved this movie when I was young because it was funny but now that I rewatched it, I realized how mean it was. I now have a love-hate relationship with it because it's really funny because of the old woman but it was super devastating for the couple. It's probably best to not overanalyze things in order to enjoy it.
Oh my God. The old woman was batshit crazy. I think she thinks that it helps the couple when she ruins their life but what if they don't reach the point of realization? What if they spiral downward? God this movie is making me insane because it was truly fun but problematic.
I love seeing Drew Barrymore here. I love her.
I felt that the ending kind of happened really fast. They just realized that they are not bad people and realized they wanted more in their life so they left there. I felt that the old woman won because she was able to make them leave. She's such a scammer.
JUST LIKE HEAVEN
SYNOPSIS: A guy ends up seeing the ghost of a woman and they try to find out why she's appearing to him. RATING: 10/10 NON-SPOILERY REVIEW:
This is a rewatch (I've rewatched this many this) and I still love it. I love the story between Lizzie and David. It was interesting to see that their relationship started as hatred and then turned into something more. I was devastated for Lizzie when she found out what happened to her and I'm glad that David tried to help her. It was touching and very funny to watch. David is so adorable.
THOR: RAGNAROK
SYNOPSIS: Thor with the help of his friends and the other Asgardians, try their best to stop Hela, the Goddess of Death. RATING: 8.8/10 NON-SPOILERY REVIEW:
I love this movie. I watched this in the cinema with my family and we could not stop laughing. There were so many hilarious scene that at some points I kept thinking, 'Is this Guardians of the Galaxy?'. I love how different this is from the serious tone of the previous Thor movies. Plotwise, I think it should have focused more on Hela and the fight.
I love how Loki was not used as the main villain. You know that he's still not good and you keep looking out in case he betrays Thor. I love his reactions when Hulk was revealed to be the champion and when Hulk was beating up Thor.
Seeing Dr. Strange mess with Thor and Loki was hilarious.
It was funny to find out that the one who voiced Korg was the director, Taika Waititi. His character was very funny and adorable.
It was weird that they used Surt to destroy Asgard and stop Hela. I wonder what will happen to them now?
I really liked that they introduced Valkyries although it was devastating that Valkyrie was the last one remaining. She's badass though and I loved seeing her as an additional member of the group and how she keeps buddying up with Hulk.
I loved seeing Mark Ruffalo here. He was just so precious.
Thor using lightnings instead of his hammer was so badass. I was really amazed by how cool his lightning powers were.
I love seeing Heimdall with long hair. He looked so badass.
I felt bad for Skurge. He just wanted to prove himself that he had to side with Hela. It was heartbreaking to see that he sacrificed himself to save the others as repentance for the things he did with Hela.
SYNOPSIS: Norah meets Nick in a bar and asks for him to pretend to be her boyfriend for 5 minutes. RATING: 5/10 NON-SPOILERY REVIEW:
I didn't really like this movie. The cinematography was alright and so is the story but I felt nothing for the characters. I didn't particularly enjoying the casts because I think that they aren't suited for high school character roles (probably because I just watched this now and I keep thinking of their current roles). I felt nothing for Nick and Norah together especially since the story just lasts for a whole night and it seems absurd to fall in love in such a limited time (especially since it's only just a few hours because it's a movie). Plus, I really didn't think that the music was the main focus of the movie. Still, I loved Nick's friends. They were hilarious.
I loved how supportive Nick's friends are towards him moving on. They really disliked Tris and I could see why. She was a bitch. I was glad that Nick left her on the road.
I was cringing every time they passed the bubblegum that Caroline dropped in the toilet. It was so disgusting and I don't understand why they kept eating it all throughout the night.
It was weird seeing Jay Baruchel as a asshole type character because I kept thinking about him as a nerd/geek in the Sorcerer's Apprentice.
KING ARTHUR: THE LEGEND OF THE SWORD
SYNOPSIS: A retelling of the story of King Arthur. RATING: 7.8/10 NON-SPOILERY REVIEW:
You should not watch this movie when you are sick. Everything moves too fast. Just kidding. The movie was great. The cinematography, effects, and background music were amazing. To be honest, I don't really like the story of King Arthur and Merlin but I was intrigued by this movie. Their version is an interesting one and seeing it unfold was very entertaining. Plus, there were funny moments too.
It was interesting to see Roose Bolton (Game of Thrones) here and he wasn't really a bad guy which was shocking. Even Baelish was here and he also wasn't a bad guy.
I was very devastated when the girls from the brothel were killed by Vortigern.
Jude Law was amazing as Vortigern. He was scary, creepy, and powerful. Plus, his voice was amazing to hear. Vortigern was a really greedy character. He killed most of his family just to gain and power.
It was amazing that Bill could shoot an arrow that far but he managed to get Back Lack killed which was terrible.
Omg David Beckham!
The appearance of the Lady of the Lake was really creepy. Something just dragged Arthur through the mud like omg. I mean, sure she got the job done, but it was still pretty frightening.
Seeing Arthur use the overpower mode of Excalibur was amazing.
The giant snake that the Mage used was amazing and creepy at the same time.
The final confrontation felt a bit weird for me because it seemed like it occurred in a different realm.
NAOMI AND ELY'S NO KISS LIST
SYNOPSIS: Naomi and Ely, who's been friends for years, goes through a rough patch after their No Kiss List pact was violated. RATING: 8/10 NON-SPOILERY REVIEW:
I really enjoyed watching this movie. It focused more on friendship, family bond, and character development. It was very entertaining and you would really care for the characters. Naomi is a bit of a bitch in the beginning but as she matured, you begin to grow fond of her. Her friendship with Ely was adorable and funny. They were really cute together. Pierson Fode was amazing as Naomi's gay bestfriend. Also, he's really handsome. Matthew Daddario is also a wonderful addition to the cast. He was handsome and adorable.
It was terrible that Bruce 2 cheated on Naomi with Ely but Naomi didn't really care for him much as her boyfriend. They could have just told her the truth. Still, it worked out for the best because Naomi began to rely on no one but herself. She began to mature and take care of herself rather than relying on Ely.
Naomi and Ely were adorable together. They were really cute and it sucked that Ely was gay.
I was glad to see that Naomi managed to get along more with other people like Robin. They were also cute together. I also like the fact that Robin is Monique Coleman (Taylor in High School Musical)
I found Naomi and Gabriel together really wonderful and adorable. I'm glad that they got together even though it kind of broke the No Kiss List too.
13 GOING ON 30
SYNOPSIS: A thirteen year old girl makes a wish on her birthday to become thirty. RATING: 8/10 NON-SPOILERY REVIEW:
I really liked this movie when I was young and I still like it. The movie was entertaining and heartfelt. There were fun, cringy, and heartbreaking scenes. Jennifer Garner did a good job portraying the 30-year-old Jenna Rink. You could really see her act like she was still 13 years old. I also really love the fact that Mark Ruffalo portrayed Matty. He's an adorable man who deserved to get his happiness.
I was glad to see that Jenna found out more about what happened before she became 30 through Matty. He was able to give her a more down to earth details.
I felt terrible that Lucy stole Jenna's idea. It was a fun and innovate way for the magazine.
I was glad that Jenna realized the more important things in life like caring for your family and being nice rather than being a successful but a bitch.
I felt devastated for Jenna when she found out that Matty went through with the wedding. I was very glad that she got back to her 13 year old self and did the right thing with Matty. The ending was very adorable and wonderful to see. I'm glad that they got together and even managed to get her dream house (their house looked like the dream house that Matty built for her).
ALICE IN WONDERLAND
SYNOPSIS: Alice wanders through wonderland where everyone was waiting for her to slay the Jabberwocky. RATING: 6.8/10 NON-SPOILERY REVIEW:
I have already watched this before but I didn't remember enjoying it as much. When I rewatched it, I managed to enjoy it more (since I liked the Through the Looking Glass movie very much). This movie is very entertaining but it's very weird. The cinematography is very beautiful. The way that the story panned out was kind of slow but it was interesting. I liked how the story panned out. It may have been better if Mia Wasikowska was not Alice (I really didn't like her much). On the other hand, every other cast was entertaining especially Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter. I liked his dance.
Hamish is a very weird person and I am glad that Alice didn't go through with marrying him. I'm glad that Hamish's father was able to give her the freedom she wanted by letting her be his apprentice.
I liked seeing how Alice became friends with the Bandersnatch. Sure, they were the ones who stole his/her eye but it was amazing that he/she was still able to trust her afterwards and even became loyal to her.
I liked hearing that the voice of the Jabberwocky is Chistopher Lee. That's amazing.
I liked seeing Mad Hatter and Alice's interactions. They seemed to have a real bond and it was wonderful to see.
EVERYTHING EVERYTHING
SYNOPSIS: Maddy, who's not allowed to leave her home because of SCID, falls in love with her new neighbor. RATING: 5/10 NON-SPOILERY REVIEW:
The interactions between Maddy and Olly were cute and adorable but I really didn't feel much for them. I found the story quite predictable and because I kind of spoiled myself of what happened in the ending, I really didn't enjoy it. Nothing much happened all throughout the movie and some of the things that happened kind of annoyed me. Plus, the movie kind of bored me.
I was glad that Maddy had Carla. She was very kind towards Maddy and she took care of her. She wanted Maddy to be happy and supported her.
I hated Pauline. Sure, she wanted her daughter to be safe but it didn't seem like a rational person would do what she did. I'm curious as to how she could continue being a doctor without breaking down. I was glad that Maddy left her. What she did was not something you could forgive easily.
It seemed irresponsible of Maddy to go to Hawaii with a guy she just met. I mean, she knew that she could probably die, but she risked for one day of flirting?? Does not seem rational to me. Seems stupid.
MAMMA MIA
SYNOPSIS: Sophie who is about to get married tries to find her father so that he could walk her down the aisle. RATING: 8.5/10 NON-SPOILERY REVIEW:
I am truly amazed that they were incorporate many ABBA songs in the movie and it didn't feel forced. The movie was really fun. It seemed a bit weird at some points but it was very entertaining. It was very warm and cheerful to watch. The casts were amazing especially Meryl Streep. Her role her was really different from the one she had as Miranda from the Devil Wears Prada but she still nailed it. I was also amazed that the other five casts (the three maybe-dads, and Donna's friends) were also famous people. I was also amazed to see Pierce Brosnan singing. He wasn't as good as the others but it was still fun. Plus, I really like him.
It's funny that even Donna doesn't know who the real father is. I really want to know who the real father is!
If it's true that there is a sequel, I can't wait for it! Hopefully, they'll finally confirm who Sophie's true father is.
It was fun seeing Donna and Sam get married. They finally resolved their issues after all these years. It was fun seeing them got back together and knowing what happened in the past.
It was fun to see that Rosie is also Molly Weasley, Tanya is also Beverly Hofstadter, Bill is Bootstrap Bill, and Harry is the guy from Kingsman.
I really thought that each of Donna's friend would end up with her ex-lovers. It was funny that Harry was opted to be gay rather than be paired up with Tanya or Rosie.
