SYNOPSIS: Masato and his mother, Mamako, were transported inside a game world. There they had their crazy adventure.
GENRE : Adventure, Comedy, FantasyNUMBER OF EPISODES : 12+1 OVA
RATING : 4/10
I love the theme of the game they went into. It just wanted to help mothers and their children get closer. I enjoyed seeing the point of view of a parent and a child about the issues they encounter with their relationship. We got to see the darker and lighter aspects of raising a child and being a child. I love the bond between Mamako and Masato. However, many inappropriate scenes were shown, especially with Mamako and Masato. Most of it was not children friendly, and it was disturbing to me. It totally ruined the wholesome theme because some parts were kind of hentai-ish. Also, the traumatizing things were downplayed.
The story was okay, but it wasn't exciting. I don't think much happened throughout the twelve episodes. Many of the scenes had a mixture of being funny and annoying, but more on the annoying. Tbh, I kind of felt like I lost some of my brain cells after watching it. Many things were so absurd.
I don't think it added anything new to the Isekai genre. Still, I found the fantasy elements cool, and I wished there were more of it. There were a lot of talks that happened during fights and its kind of annoying.
Mamako is hella awesome when she's wielding her weapons. I just wish that there were more fight scenes since that's one of the reasons why I decided to watch this.
In terms of the characters, they were kind of alright. However, the issue is that most of them had an annoying trait or traits, and some you wouldn't even care at all. I am honestly amazed that Masato is not one of those teens that's horny as hell, and that's why I like him.
SPOILERY THOUGHTS AND REACTIONS
I'm curious as to why Porta doesn't have her mother with her. Was she an exemption to that rule? I love it when Mamako says Ara ara. I love Mamako's overpowered skills. The main reason I decided to watch this is to see that. I'm kind of disappointed though that most of the fights, there would be something that would not allow Mamako to use her powers, and that would prolong the fight. Also, we only got limited fight scenes. Most of the fights were finished by talking. I love the part where Mamako was able to block the effects of Medhimama's staff. I hated how unfair she used that staff. I love that by the last episode, Masato was able to appreciate his adventure with his mother. He accepted that he can't do anything, but enjoy being in the game world, even though he is stressed by some of the things that Mamako is doing. CHARACTER THOUGHTS: Mamako is an amazing mother. She loves her son, and she wants to get closer to him and understand him more. However, there are times when she acted immaturely, and she said or did disturbing things towards Masato. I hate that sometimes she blushes during inappropriate situations with her son. I honestly like Masato. If I was in his situation, I'd probably react the same as he did. He got angry in the beginning that Mamako was with him, but I understood that. He just wanted to be on an adventure, enjoy it, and be independent. I love that he reacts appropriately to the scenes where Mamako is cosplaying or getting naked. I felt bad for him during those scenes, because it was kind of traumatizing. The outfits suit Mamako, though. Porta was adorable. She didn't have much screen appearance, and she's not a fighter, but she was always there to support the team. I felt so bad for Medhi. Even if this was in the game world, she was abused by her mother. She just wanted to enjoy the game and make friends, but she experienced trauma. She even developed an evil split personality because of it. I was kind of annoyed at Wise. She feels like she's more powerful than any of the members (except Mamako), yet she's useless as fuck. She always gets paralyzed, or her magic got sealed. Shirase pisses me off. She's always dead, and she's annoying. She likes seeing Mamako strip or cosplay, it's disturbing to me. She also does many annoying things just to get Mamako to strip. The Empress of the Night was a deplorable character. She wanted to kidnap handsome men with great abs and pecs just to harass them. She treated them like playthings and slaves. She was also a terrible mother. Imagine leaving your child to go hang out with younger men, and treating her like someone who robbed you of your peace and freedom. She also physically hit Wise badly, even though that was only in the game. Honestly, she shouldn't have tried to reach out to Wise. Medhimama was another awful mother. She wanted her child to be always number one, even if it was by sabotaging others. It was disgusting that she wanted Medhi to use her body to attract customers during the festival, even ripping her clothes off. She also told her that if she wasn't number one, she's worthless. I don't know how Masato saw her acts as something a good mom would do even if it was abnormally enhanced. I get that Amante is supposed to be an idiot enemy, but it got annoying. She always says things that she isn't supposed to. Being one of the bosses, she should've known better. PARTS THAT ARE FUNNY AND STUPID TO ME: The meaning of MMMMMORPG - Mom's Massively Maternal Multiplayer Making-Up-With-Offspring Role-Playing-Game. Wise managed to get paralyzed two-times in a row during their fight with the slimes. When the slimes monster melted Mamako's clothes and the tentacles of the sea anemone, grabbed her. Wise reviving Shirase while she was still impaled and Shirase just dying again immediately. However, since this is a game, it should have automatically been removed. Dark Lord Scenario Quiz in the academy. Why the hell would the Dark Lord be concerned about his mother? Porta was able to transform the tentacle obtained during the swim class to a Takoyaki Party Set. Mamako's customers in the school festival cafe became part of the staff because they wanted to help her. Mamako went to find Wise during the waitress beauty contest to make her heat up soup. Also, she won the contest just by being there. The large amount of health and mana potion that Wise and Masato gained as a reward in the academy when what they wanted to gain was experience points. Masato got the apron equipment for mom's even though the prize was only supposed to be a reward for him. Medhi got angry when she found out that she couldn't use her healing powers because Mamako is overpowered. The team went to the village with the tower even though they knew it was a scam. They didn't care about Amante sending assassins because Mamako is the one left inside the guild house. They only got worried because he was disguised as a door-to-door salesman. The bomb didn't explode after Mamako calmed it down by treating it like a baby. Mamako using her skills and weapons to do household chores. I think that was unfair to Amante, though. Even if it was efficient. Wise thinking that Masato was talking about her chest when he said washboard. They had their team meetings while they are naked in the hot spring. Amante's normal reaction when she found out that they do this. Mamako got angry at the Mamako illusions set before by Masato because she was worried that Masato would get scared of her. Although, those Mamakos were indeed scary. Wise and Medhi having fun at hitting the illusion version of their mothers. Every time Mamako gains a new special mom skill. Most of the skills were so exaggerated.
