#T5W | Authors You'd Want To Meet at Book Expo America & Bookcon

Top 5 Wednesday is group that was created by Lainey and is currently hosted by Samantha. A topic is posted every month wherein if you want to, you can post about your top 5 picks for said topics.

The topic for May 4th is "authors you'd want to meet at book expo america & bookcon". I am not going to those events but I wanted to write about the top 5 authors I want to meet from there.

List of the authors who will attend said events can be found:
  1. Cassandra Clare: I love all of Cassandra Clare's books. She's currently my second favorite author (after JK Rowling). Reading her books will send you in an emotional roller coaster. The character she creates are very easy to love and adore. My favorite male character comes from her book series, "The Infernal Devices" - William Herondale. I can't wait for the next book for Lady Midnight because it ended in quite a cliffhanger.
  2. Richelle Mead: The vampire academy series was one of the first series I read and I loved it. Her set of vampires are badass and amazing to read. The story and the world she created was really interesting. I haven't had time to read 'The Glittering Court' yet but it's on top of my TBR pile.
  3. Laini Taylor: Oh my god. I was really amazed with the Daughter of Smoke and Bone Trilogy. When I first started reading Daughter of Smoke and Bone, I put it down because I don't have the time to marathon the books. When you read her books, you don't want to stop. The world she created was an amazing one and her way of writing is beautiful to read. I'm so excited for the book she will release later this year!
  4. Kendare Blake: I love her Anna Dressed in Blood duology. It was a mixture of badass-ness and feels. I haven't had time to read all of the books from the Goddess War trilogy but I plan to in the future.
  5. Jenny Han: The only book I've read of Jenny Han is 'To All the Boys I've Loved Before' and I loved that so much. I haven't had time to read 'PS I Still Love You' but I can't wait to read it after I finish this semester!

#T5W | APRIL TOPICS

Top 5 Wednesday is a group that was created by Lainey and is currently hosted by Samantha. A topic is posted every month wherein if you want to, you can post about your top 5 picks for said topics.

The topics for the month of April were:
  • Rainy Day Reads
  • Books with "Hard" Topics (ie mental health, sexual assault, illness, etc)
  • Books You're Intimidated By
  • Favorite Mothers/Maternal Figures
I wasn't able to post on the weeks the topics were supposed to be in so i'm doing them at the last Wednesday of April.
In this post, I'm going to talk about my top 5 Books with "Hard" Topics, Books I'm Intimidated By, and Favorite Mothers/Maternal Figures. I'm not doing Rainy Day reads because it doesn't usually rain here and I don't really have a book or a genre of book I prefer reading during rainy days.

BOOKS WITH "HARD" TOPICS

  • Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
    TOPIC: Assisted Suicide
This book is really deceiving. I thought it was a light-funny read but oh boy was I wrong. It's about a woman who becomes a caretaker of a quadriplegic man and their adventures together. This book made me cry and it broke my heart. It's wonderfully written and there is a movie coming out starring Emilia Clarke and Sam Claflin. The trailer is amazing.
  • Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell
    TOPIC: Abuse
I really need to reread this but at the same time I don't want to be sad all over again. Eleanor and Park's relationship is a really fun one to read. However, Eleanor's home life is so difficult and Richie is ultimately creepy that makes it hard to read. Plus, Eleanor being bullied in her school is another aspect that makes it hard to read.
  • The Green Mile by Stephen King
    TOPIC: Racism, Rape and Murder
This book really made me feel devastated. It talks about the Paul Edgecombe's past as a correctional officer in charge of death row inmates. It's hard to read about some convicted men getting electrocuted for the crimes they committed after reading about them being nice and trying to repent. It was also hard reading about the crime one of the inmates supposedly committed. This has a movie starring Tom Hanks.
  • A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness
    TOPIC: Terminal cancer
This book tells a story of a boy who's trying to cope with his mother's terminal cancer. It's a heartbreaking story that confused me at some points but ultimately made me really sad. It's hard to lose someone you love. It's hard to read because you don't want to and hope not to experience what Conor's experiencing. A movie is coming out soon about this.
  • A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket
    TOPIC: Child Abuse
I really wanted to include this here because I find this book hard to read. I haven't finished all the books in this series because my heart aches for the Baudelaire children when I'm reading it. They had a terrible childhood after they lost their parents. I'm stuck at book 6 because I can't take the hard life they've been given.
I'd like to mention Living Dead Girl by Elizabeth Scott because even though that book wasn't my favorite, it was a really hard book to read. It talks about sexual abuse. The story is about a girl who was kidnapped and became a sex slave of a pedophile. I don't really know why I decided to read this but until now I can't get forget what happened.

BOOKS YOU'RE INTIMIDATED BY

  • A Song of Ice and Fire by George RR Martin
I really want to read this book because I love the tv series (even though the tv series has surpassed the storyline of the books that are currently available). I'm having a hard time trying to read it because the book are too thick and the point of view of some of the other characters are not really that entertaining. I got bored. I'm halfway through the first book and the point of view that I'm currently interested in are Daenerys' and Tyrion's.
  • The Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien
I really want to read this but I don't think I can take the writing. It's not that it's not beautifully written (because I'm sure that it is), it's just that the writing used is not the one that I'm comfortable reading. I find it quite hard to understand and i get bored.
  • Classic Books
I am having trouble reading classic books. As of now I've only read two, Pride and Prejudice and Les Miserables. It was worth it and I'm sure other classic books are but I'm not in the mood for one right now and I don't have the time. Recently, I tried reading Sense and Sensibility but the writing made my head hurt and i got confused a lot.
  • Brandon Sanderson Books
I've been seeing a lot of people read Brandon Sanderson books and loving it. Especially on booktube but whenever I see how thick his books are, I get intimidated to read it.
  • Poetry Books
I don't know why but I really don't have the patience to read poetry. My attention goes elsewhere and I end up not understanding nor enjoying a certain piece of poetry.

FAVORITE MOTHERS/MATERNAL FIGURES

  • Molly Weasley from the Harry Potter Series by JK Rowling
Mrs. Weasley was the first one I thought when I saw this topic. She's a very wonderful woman and mother to all her children and maternal figure to Harry. I'm glad that he had her during his growing years and i love how she treated him like one of her own children.
  • Sally Jackson from Percy Jackson and the Olympians series

Sally Jackson is a very wonderful woman who raised Percy on her own. She married an awful human being like Gabe just so she could protect her son. It's a wonderful thing that she was later rescued by Percy and that she found her own happily ever after with Paul.
  • Minerva McGonagall from the Harry Potter Series by JK Rowling

Aside from Mrs. Weasley, McGonagall acted like a maternal figure for Harry. She's a badass professor who cared about her students. She genuinely cared for Harry's safety and guided him through his academic years.
  • Esme Cullen from the Twilight Saga by Stephanie Meyer

Esme is a wonderful character for the Twilight Saga. She cared for all her adoptive children and I'm glad that she met Carlisle. She committed suicide after she lost her own child and i'm glad that even though she couldn't have her own child, she had the Cullens. It was nice of her to welcome Bella into their family.
  • Trisha Corbin - Taylor from the Sea Breeze Series by Abbi Glines
Trisha's the maternal figure of their group. She's there to give them advice and helps comfort them through hard times. She had a hard time growing up with a horrible stepmother but with her brother and Rock by her side, she was able to grow up into an amazing woman. She couldn't have her own children so she adopted Preston's siblings and became a wonderful mother to them.

Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare :D

Title: Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare
Pages: 514 (Ebook)
Series: The Dark Artifices #1

Summary: Follow Emma Carstairs as she tries to find the person responsible for her parents' death.

Rating: 5/5!!!

"There is nothing more important than love. And no law higher."

"The choices we make, make us."

I've been waiting for this book ever since I found out that there was going to be another Shadowhunter series. I read this a few weeks ago (I just didn't have time to write a review because of my hectic schedule). Initially, I just read the book when I had a spare time but when I got to a certain point, I couldn't put it down. I couldn't concentrate on my acads so I decided to finish the book and it was worth it. Even though I had to cram a paper the following day, it was really worth it. Not that I'm telling anyone to prioritize reading this rather than doing your academic stuff. Just don't read it first if you have other things to do. Plus, if you haven't read all the other books from the Shadowhunter World especially The Mortal Instruments and the Shadowhunter Academy, I don't recommend you to read this. The feels won't be the same.

I was really happy with this book. It didn't top my love for the Infernal Devices but it came close. I liked this better than the first book of the Mortal Instruments - City of Bones which kind of bored me when I reread it. This is the first book that was released in 2016 that I read and it will probably end up being my favorite read of this year.

Writing, World, Story: I really really love Cassandra Clare's writing. She's a fabulous author and I love that she decided to expand the world of Shadowhunters more. Compared to the other books in the series, I think the writing in this one is much better. The pacing of the story was not boring and the lines and conversations in the book was fun to read. I really loved how the events in this book turned out. There wasn't a time that I predicted something. Everything shocked me. All throughout this book, I felt different emotions. There was a time that I wanted to stop reading because I couldn't handle the event that was revealed. I wanted to throw my phone away (I was reading in my phone). I read the book even when I was walking (I just relied on my friend - that she wouldn't let me get tripped). She was looking at me like I was crazy at one point because I kept shouting at my phone. The characters in this book are really wonderful and their interactions and relationship was amazing.

PS: The first editions of the book has a short story at the end titled, "A Long Conversation" which includes a story about the characters from the Mortal Instruments. I only found out about this because we bought a copy of the book for my best friend and her copy has this. You can also visit this link for a copy online.

BEWARE: The following will kind of include spoilers.

CHARACTERS:
  • Emma Carstairs: I really really loved Emma! My love for her and Tessa are on the same. I love the fact that she's like a less grumpy, more witty and fun and badass female version of Jace. Her lines in the book was really fun to read. Though I really didn't like that she used Mark for her plan to break Julian's heart. Why can't it be Cameron? I'm curious as to what will happen with Cameron. Why was he even introduced if he's just going to be in one or two scenes.
"Why date when you can learn an extra demonic language? I mean, who wouldn't want to know how to say 'Come here often?' in Purgatic?
  • Julian Blackthorn: I find Julian quite adorable. He's fierceness and his love for his family is a really admirable trait. He would do anything to not be separated from them. His love for Emma gave me a lot of feels. It just sucks that he still pushed to be her parabatai even though he knew that he's in love with her. It's kind of scary though that Julian can do things like blame Anselm and lie to others about everything.
"Too much coffee, not enough pancakes."
"I hope they put that on my tombstone."
  • Cristina Rosales: I love her. I love how she took care of Mark when he first arrived. I love how she is with the Blackthorns and her friendship with Emma. She supported her a lot and it was really sad that they weren't the parabatais.
Why are you trying to burn a hole through Brother Enoch with your eyeballs?
  • Mark Blackthorn: It was heartbreaking to see Mark at first. He couldn't even recognize the he was really back with his family and didn't trust anything. It was great when he came around. It was fun watching him act like he wasn't human because of all his time in Fae land. Although it was heartbreaking when he thinks that nobody needs him and he'd rather go back to Fae.
"I do not have syphilis," Mark said angrily. "There are no sexually transmitted diseases in Faerieland!
  • Arthur Blackthorn: I really didn't like Arthur but I couldn't blame him for not taking care of the children properly. He has problems of his own but I really didn't like him shouting at Ty for wearing earphones during the test. The only time that Arthur redeemed himself for me was during the confrontation with Robert Lightwood. I was like - "BOOM SHOTS FIRED"
"Then let me ask Arthur this, Clary," said Robert. "What punishment would he choose for Nephilim, even young Nephilim, who break the Law?"
"Well, that would depend," Arthur said, "on whether they were punished already, five years ago, by losing their father and brother and sister."
Robert flushed darkly. "It was the Dark War that took their family-"
"It was the Clave that took Mark and Helen," said Magnus. "We expect betrayal from our enemies. Not from those who are supposed to care for us."
"We would have protected Mark," said Robert Lightwood. "There was no need to fear the Clave."
Arthur was pale, his eyes dilated. Yet Emma had never heard him speak so eloquently, or with such clarity. It was bizarre. "Would you have?" he demanded. "In that case, why is Helen still at Wrangel Island?"
  • Malcolm Fade: I never imagined that Malcolm would be the main villain. He was such an aloof character in City of Heavenly Fire and he was adorable because of his weirdness. I was really devastated to find out that he's the Guardian (at that point in the book I wanted to throw my phone away and I kept shouting no no no no no no not Malcolm but really there wasn't anyone else). He was kind of a villain you couldn't help but love because even though what he did was evil, the reason behind it was love and even though he just pretended to be the Blackthorn's family friend, he still helped them a lot. It just really sucks that the older Blackthorn's were such terrible people. Murdering their own just because she fell for a warlock.
"I came here to bring true love back from the dead."
  • Kit Herondale: I was really curious as to why Kit was introduced in the book. He didn't seem important and special - except the fact that he has the sight which was what the Shadowhunters were looking for nowadays. I was really shocked to find out that he was the long lost Herondale!! I fangirled a lot because hey, it's another Herondale!! I'm curious as to what would happen with Kit in the future now that he's living in the Los Angeles Institute.
"Come now," she said. "On your feet, Christopher Herondale. We've been looking for you for a long time."
  • Diego Rosales: I really don't like him. He shot Julian and he broke Cristina's heart. Even though he didn't say anything bad about her, he still didn't defend her to his brother. I think Cristina could find someone else better. I love that Emma never let his nickname as 'Perfect Diego' go.
  • Kieran: Finding out about Kieran's history broke my heart. He didn't learn how to properly love another person that's why he's so possessive of Mark. He just doesn't want to be alone in the world.
"And I love you," Kieran said. "You are all that exists on the earth and under the sky that I do love."
  • Iarlath: I was surprised to find out that he's part of the Unseelie Court because he seemed weak when Emma confronted him at the first part of the book. I'm kind of disappointed that he wasn't confronted during this book, about the fact that he helped Malcolm but well, there's still 2 (?) other books. I really hated him during the whipping part.
"Turn out your pockets or I'll rip off one of your horns and shove it where the sun doesn't shine."
The fey looked puzzled. "Where does the sun not shine? Is this a riddle?"

RELATIONSHIPS - Friendship, Family, Romantic:
  • Emma and Julian: I love the bond between these two. I find them perfect for each other and at the same time I want to kick them for being parabatais. I love how they were with each other but the writing on each other fact was really weird. I was really shocked when I read that they had sex because it's the first time that Cassandra Clare didn't put that sex scene at the end of the series but I guess it makes sense because they knew each other since they were young. It just sucks that they can't be together properly. I want to skip to the part where they break the parabatai bond (which probably would happen because how it will becoming a happy ending if it doesn't). It's really surprising that they weren't caught by the other Blackthorns.
"I keep you around because I need an audience for my witty remarks," she said as they reached the gates and Jules took out his stele to draw an Open rune.
The gate popped open. Julian turned sideways to slide through the opening. "What witty remarks?"

"Why did you pull the arrow out?" She demanded, pulling her sweater over her head. She had a tank tap on under it. She patted his chest and side with the sweater, absorbing as much of the blood as she could.
Jules's breath was coming in harsh pants. "Because when someone-shoots you with an arrow-" he gasped, "your immediate response is not-'Thanks for the arrow, I think I'll keep it for a while.'"
"Good to know your sense of humor is intact."
  • Emma and Cristina: I really really like that a girl bestfriend bond was introduced in this book. I was really fond of Emma and Cristina together. Not as lovers, but as friends. It's kind of George and Simon's relationship in Shadowhunter Academy and it sucks that they met after she became parabatai with Julian. It would really have been better if they were parabatais.
"Bad time to be a llama."
"Is it ever a good time, really?"
"I have thought now for a while that I would never want a parabatai," she said. "But I would feel differently, I think, if that parabatai could have been you."
  • Emma and Mark: I liked seeing them together (not that kind of together) but their bond. Although it was rather creepy when Emma asked him to pretend to be her boyfriend and what Mark replied. I hope that it won't create conflict with Mark's bond with Julian. I loved seeing their travel using the pony-bike.
"Mark. Mark!" She waved the wallet over her head. "This is a clue. An actual clue. I think I love you."Mark's eyebrows went up. "In Faerie, if you said that, we would have to ledge our troth, and you might put a geas upon me that I would not stray from you or I would die.Emma shoved the wallet in her pocket. "Well, here it's just an expression that means 'I like you very much' or even 'Thanks for the bloodstained wallet.'"
  • Mark and Cristina: I really really shipped them together. Especially during the haircut scene. The tension they had was really intense and I wanted to kick something whenever they were interrupted. I want them to be together in the future.
"Beautiful," he said finally."Do you mean your haircut?" she asked, trying for a teasing voice.
"You see, I do not want a body without a heart," she said.
She had wondered, when he'd looked in her eyes and said that he'd had to make do without mirrors in the Wild Hunt, whose eyes he'd been looking into for all those years.
Now she knew.
  • Mark and Kieran: I was really shocked to find out that they've been in a relationship. I was shipping Mark and Cristina when it was revealed that they were kind of together. I'll admit I really liked that Mark had someone with him during the years he was in fae land. It made his separation with his family less painful. Although it was terrible that Kieran tattled about what Mark said, you can understand why. He just doesn't want to be separated from Mark but in the end, he was wrong. Emma and Jules got hurt because of him.
"You can say it only to me," said Kieran, his long fingers ghosting across Mark's cheek. "Here in this space between us. It is safe."
  • Cristina and Diego: I really don't like them together. I just want Diego to go away and for Cristina to be with Mark or anyone else just not Diego.
  • Ty and Kit: I want them to develop something. A friendship or a relationship.
  • Livvy and Ty: I really really love the bond between the twins. They're adorable together especially when they were researching about the murders. It was funny to see that they had a computer in the institute and that she and Ty were studying programming languages. I love how they were so protective with each other and it's kind of sad that Ty doesn't want to have a parabatai but he still proved that they don't need to be parabatais to protect each other.
"If you hurt Tiberius, I'll kill you. I don't care if you're Mark, I'll kill you."
  • The Blackthorn Family: I love how close they are and how comfortable they are with each other. The relationship between the siblings was a really close one and it's sad that Julian, their older brother, had to be the parental figure because Arthur wasn't really that useful with his current state of mind. Julian had to abandon his role as their brother and became their mother and father. I love seeing how protective Julian is with his siblings.
  • Malcolm-Annabel: It was really terrible to find out about their history. Lucky for Alec and Magnus that they weren't together during that time. The punishment for Annabel was really terrible because she just loved. It shouldn't be a reason for her die. It was also terrible that Malcolm 'died' believing that his friends knew all along that the Blackthorns killed his love and not sent her to become an Iron Sister.
"I WILL RAISE YOU, ANNABEL LEE."
"No one is innocent!" Malcolm shouted. "She was a Blackthorn! Annabel Blackthorn! She loved me, and they took her-they took her and walled her up and she died there in the tomb. They did that to me and I do not forgive! I will never forgive!
FUTURE PREDICTIONS/IDEAS/THOUGHTS:
  • I LITERALLY LAUGHED OUT LOUD after I read that Clary made a birth control rune XD
  • The reference to the Mortal Instruments band made me 'awww'.
  • I really don't like the Cold War. I think it would bring harsh repercussions because the fae realm is such a big realm and treating them like that will not bring good things. Especially since the unseelie queen hasn't made a proper appearance since Sebastian was defeated.
  • I think Anselm would play other roles in the story and would probably become a minor villain because of what Julian did. He's still the head of the vampires of Los Angeles and it was a terrible thing to do to him even though he's a downworlder.
  • I'm really curious as to what happened with Diana during the Dark War.
  • I'm excited to see what Annabel would do even though it's kind of terrifying to think about because she'll probably try to get her revenge for what her family did to her.
  • I think Malcolm's dead but then again, he's a warlock and nobody's seen his corpse yet so we can't be sure.
  • I want to know the history of who became the first parabatais to fall in love with each other!
  • I really want Jem and Tessa to have their own set of children. Baby Carstairs :3
  • Why was Rook targeted by the Mantis demons even though Malcolm was supposedly dead?
  • Why isn't Alec and Magnus married yet even though the law has been lifted?
SOME OF MY FAVORITE LINES:
He fished what looked like a scrap of red cloth out of his pocket. Kit stared. What could possibly be interesting about a square of cotton?Emma straightened up. She looked eager now. "Did you find out anything?""If you dropped it in a washing machine with a load of whites, it would definitely turn your sock pink."
Marjorie, Julian had explained, was nearly a hundred years old and might die at any moment; they had to visit her. It was a moral requirement.
The next room was Ty's. "Tiberius Nero Blackthorn," said Emma. "I think his parents may have gone a little overboard with the name. It's like naming someone Magnificent Bastard.
"First, gross," Malcolm said. "Please don't show me pictures of dead bodies without a warning."
"Threatening the High Warlock," Julian muttered as Diana disappeared down the hall. "Better and better. Maybe we should head down to vampire clan headquarters and punch Anselm Nightshade in the face?"
"This is my domain. You've got your own hopeless humans in New York.""One of those hopeless humans is the father of my child," Magnus pointed out.Magnus had not ever been pregnant, though that would have been interesting, Emma thought.
"He bumped into a pay phone and said, 'Excuse me, miss,' on our way in," said Julian."It's polite to apologize," said Mark with the same small smile."Not to inanimate objects."
"Oh, NO," Emma said. "Not danger, Mr. I-Just-Almost-Bled-Out-in-My-Car."Julian sighed and reached for his soda. "I can't believe I ever complained about 'Jules' as a nickname.
"Captain America is definitely the most handsome Avenger," said Cristina. "But I like the Hulk. I would like to heal his broken heart.""We're Nephilim," said Julian. "We're not even supposed to know about the Avengers. Besides," he added, "Iron Man is obviously the best-looking."
"We want what we cannot have," Mark said. "But we love what shows us kindness."
"This cat is looking at me with judgement.""He's not," said Jules. "That's just his face.""You look at me the same way," Mark said, glancing at Julian. "Judgy face."
"And why is Tavvy in a bag of sugar?"Mark shrugged. "He wanted to be in a bag of sugar."
"I bet you didn't like Magnus much, either," said Julian, still with the same odd, stiff look on his face."Maybe not," said Jace, "but I never would have said so.""Because it would have hurt Alec's feelings?" Emma asked."No," said Jace, "because Magnus would have turned me into a hat rack," and he wandered back toward Clary, who was laughing with Alec, bot of them looking happy.
But Julian is not just someone who can touch your heart. He can touch your soul. And there is a difference between having your heart break and having your soul shatter.
"I don't want to die on the Pacific Coast Highway!" Sterling wailed."Oh, I'm sorry." Emma's voice dripped acid. "Is there a different highway you'd like to die on? BECAUSE WE CAN ARRANGE THAT."
Belinda gave a harsh laugh. "There are three hundred of us-there are barely any of you-and you're children-""Not all of us are children," said another voice, and Malcolm Fade stepped out onto the stairs beside Julian.
"I'm Malcolm Fade," he said. "High Warlock of Los Angeles. You do know what warlocks are, don't you?"
"One of us," said Malcolm, "is worth five hundred of you. I can burn you to the ground in six seconds flat and use the ashes to stuff a teddy bear for my girlfriend. Not that I have a girlfriend at the moment," he added, "but one lives in hope."
"Do you love me?" Her voice was a whisper. He wound a piece of her hair around his finger, a silver-gold ring. "What's the difference?" he asked. "It won't change anything if I do."
"You make it sound like you're a serial killer with a freezer full of arms," Emma muttered as he shouldered open the door."The Clave would probably be happier about that."
"Whoa." Emma help up her hand, "Mr. Hot and Sexy?""Perfect Diego," Mark grumbled."Okay, look, I know you haven't been back from Faerie all that long, but here in the human world, Mr. Hot and Sexy is not an effective insult."
"Everyone is more than one thing," said Kieran. "We are more than single actions we undertake, whether they be good or evil."
"Have you," Emma said in a near whisper, "have you always hated them? Julian and the rest?""Always," he said. "Even when it seemed like I loved them."
"Arthur's right," he said. "Dark magic." A cry echoed from inside the Sanctuary. "Betrayal!" Anselm shouted. "Et tu, Brute?"
She was standing on the front steps with Jem, who was cradling Church in his arms. The cat had come running up a few moments after Jem had arrived, and practically launched his small furry body into Jem's arms. Jem was petting him now, rubbing absentmindedly under his chin and around his ears. The cat had gone limp under his ministrations, like a washcloth.
"Oh, if we could end love just by willing it, life would be very different."
A LONG CONVERSATION: I really really like this short story. It's kind of the summary about what happened to the characters of the Mortal Instruments in the last five years.
  • I was surprised to see that Beatriz Mendoza became the new tutor at the New York Institute and that Jace and Clary are the current head.
  • It was really adorable to read the event surrounding this book which was Simon and Izzy's engagement (it broke my heart to find out that Izzy insisted on an immediate engagement party because it's Max's birthday).
  • It's fun to read how Clary managed the werewolves and the vampires and how Lily and Maia relied on her.
  • It's fun to read how protective Alec is about his adoptive children. The introduction of their other son, Rafael Santiago Lightwood broke my heart! I really loved that they named him after Raphael because Raphael was one of my favorite characters from the Mortal Instruments and he sacrificed his life for Magnus.
"Alec," Clary said firmly. "They won't take Rafe away from you. We won't let them."
"I won't let them," said Alec. "I'd kill them all first. But that would be awkward and ruin the party."
Clary had a brief but vivid mental image of Alec shooting at the party guests with his bow and arrow while Magnus took them out with magical fire.
"I ordered roses," Clary said. "I swear I did. I don't know what happened. I'll go down to the florist and kill them tomorrow. Or maybe Alec might do it. He seems murderous tonight."
  • I'm really curious as to why Clary's dreading Jace's proposal. I'm kind of thinking it's like Lily's issue in HIMYM (how she still wanted to explore the world rather than settling on becoming Jace's wife, she still wants to find herself) or she's pregnant. I don't know why but I think she's pregnant.
"So will you?" he said.
"Will I what?"
"Marry me," he said. "Marry me, Clary."
  • MAGNUS' INTERRUPTION AND HIS REPLY OMG. HAHAHA. I love seeing a reference to the Infernal Devices.
"I would say 'Don't you knock?' but it seems evident you don't," he said. "We are, however, busy."
Magnus waved a dismissive hand. "I've walked in on your ancestors doing worse," he said. "Besides, it's an emergency."

Least Favorite Book in Your Favorite Series | TOP 5 WEDNESDAY #T5W

After watching Raeleen's video on this topic, I decided to join the "Top 5 Wednesday" group in goodreads and even though it's not Wednesday today, i just really wanted to post my answer to the topic last Wednesday.

1) Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins
- I really like Anna and Lola but not Isla. The events in the book didn't stick much to my memory. Plus, I don't like Isla as a character. I found her quite annoying and so insecure of herself. I did not think that her relationship with Josh was healthy. I just kept thinking that I wanted Josh back with Rashmi. The only thing that picked up this book for me was the cameo of the other characters especially Anna and Etienne. That scene was really adorable. Therefore, this book was really a let down after reading Anna and the French Kiss and Lola and the Boy Next Door.

2) Of Neptune by Anna Banks
- When I first read this series, Of Neptune wasn't out yet. I was really excited when I found out that this series was going to have a third book. This is the only series I read (I think) that really revolved around mermaids and I loved it. After reading this third book, I was really disappointed because I really loved the first two books. The characters, the story, and the romance there was really interesting to read but in this one, it was kind of annoying. I don't even remember much of this book because I really got annoyed. I remember not liking Reed because he was kind of disturbing Galen and Emma's relationship and I ship those two.

3) While It Lasts by Abbi Glines
- I really like all the books in the Sea Breeze series but this is the one I liked least. I don't know why though. I really didn't like Cage and Eva's love story in this book (but I did love it in their second book). I'm kind of disappointed that this was the book that is being (i think, i'm not sure) turned into a movie. I found the other male leads more interesting to read than Cage.

4) Lost Hero by Rick Riordan
- I remember little about what happened in this book. I just remember that Percy's not in it. That's the main reason why this is my least favorite book in the Heroes of Olympus series. Don't get me wrong, Jason's a very interesting and powerful character to read but Percy's more interesting.

5) City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare
- I really love all of Cassandra Clare's book but of all her books, even the other series, this is the one I liked the least. I really got bored when I read it that it took me a few days to finish it. When I decided to reread the whole Mortal Instruments to prepare for the series, I stopped at this book. I got halfway there but I really got bored. It did not help in improving my reading slump. I honestly don't remember much about what happened in this book because Sebastian wasn't still up and Lilith's the only one pulling the strings. She's creepy as hell.

Top 10 Book Series I Love :D

This is a list of book series that I have read all over the years and loved. This are the books that I usually suggest to my friends. It only contains book series that are already complete.

1) Harry Potter by JK Rowling
I wasn't going to write this as the number one because I feel like it's implied but oh well. I really really love this series. This is the series that introduced me to how wonderful reading is. The wizarding world is a very amazing one. I'm glad to have been part of the generation who grew up with it. I reread this back in 2014 and god, it was amazing af.

2) The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare
I read this when I was a fourth year high school student and I loved it (except for the last book because it came out after I graduated). Cassandra Clare's shadowhunter world is a really amazing one and her writing is fabulous. I love the characters, especially William Herondale, and their relationships with each other. All of the love stories, even the side characters, are really written well and would really make you feel a lot of things. When I reread this back in 2014, I was still amazed. It still made me feel a lot of things and I cried at the end even though I was in a public area.

3) Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
I read this back in 2014. Laini Taylor's writing is very mesmerizing. I didn't think I would fall in love with angel books again but after I read this, wow. I love that this was set in Prague because it's the first time I read a book that was set in Prague. The fact that the chimaeras were the good side was really interesting to me because usually angels are the ones that are in the good side. The plot's twists and turns were really fun to read but there were also scenes that were really heartbreaking and I wished never happened.

4) Angelfall by Susan Ee
I read this last year and it was my top read of the year. I usually don't like post-apocalyptic books but this one was really worth the read. The fast pace of the book really made me like it. I finished it quite quickly and loved it a lot. The characters were really great and their conversations were really interesting and fun to read for a post-apocalyptic book. I shouted a lot when I was reading the last book which made my parents wonder if I was going insane.

    5) The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare
This ranked lower than the Infernal Devices because there were times that I felt kind of bored even though I still loved it. I decided to reread it last year but I never finished the City of Fallen Angels again. Maybe I'm biased towards The Infernal Devices because I really love books that are set in the Victorian London. Still, the plot of this series was a unique and interesting one. I love how the characters here have some connections with the character from the Infernal Devices. I really suggest reading Infernal Devices first before this series to appreciate it more.

    6) Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
This is my favorite vampire series as of now. The vampire world Richelle Mead created was a really interesting one with different types of vampires that were easy to read and love. Except Strigoi - they're assholes. I love the plot and the characters of this book more than the spin-off, Bloodlines (but I still loved that series).

    7) Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan
This book series started my addiction with mythology based books. I love Rick Riordan's writings and the fact that he created a world where different mythology exists and interacts - Egyptian, Norse, Roman, and Greek. When I read it, the series was already finished and I marathoned it during the summer break after my first year of high school. I love the stories and the characters that Rick Riordan. Percy Jackson will always be one of my fictional crushes.

    8) Sea Breeze by Abbi Glines
This is the only non-fantasy book series in this list. I really like this series even though Abbi Glines's stories usually follow the 'good girl falls in love with a bad guy' concept. I have read all the books she has written and even though I didn't love all of them, I loved the Sea Breeze. I can't put Rosemary Beach here because it's not yet finished. I love that all of the stories in this series contains different characters but they all live in Sea Breeze. You would see characters from the previous books interact with the new pairings.

    9) The Goddess Test by Aimee Carter
This is one of the series I read during my addiction with Greek Mythology based stories and I loved it. I love the concept of using the Hades-Persephone story as a basis and the story Aimee Carter created with it. I love how the gods here changed their names to follow the trend of the humans. Henry - Hades, is one of the fictional characters I loved because of his intense love for his family and the one he loves. I reread this back in 2014 and guess what, I still had the same feelings for it.

    10) The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
As of now, this is the only dystopian series that I loved. I loved Suzanne Collins's writing and the story she created. After I read it the first time, I decided to read it again although I stopped at Catching Fire because my heart couldn't take Mockingjay. I love that the film adaption was accurate to the books even though I didn't love the male lead cast of the film.

    This semester.

This semester's been really hectic and also I've kind of been in a reading slump so I haven't read anything much for this year. So far, for February I've only read After You by Jojo Moyes and for this month only Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare - review to come next week or this weekend. I've enjoyed reading that. I couldn't concentrate on academic stuffs until i finished it. Hopefully next week during our short break for this semester, I would be able to finish Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard and A Gathering of Shadows by VE Schwab but i'm still not sure because I have exams the following week. This month's been really a stressful one. I have an exam/exams scheduled for every week for this month.

After You by Jojo Moyes :D

Title: After You by Jojo Moyes
    Pages: 411 (Ebook)
    Series: Me Before You #2

Summary: Describes what happens to Lou after the events in Me Before You.

    Rating: 4/5
You never know what will happen when you fall from a great height.
"You don't have to let that one thing be the thing that defines you."

I was really excited to find out that Me Before You had a sequel. I don't know why I didn't read it as soon as it came out. Probably because the copy I have doesn't work properly in my ebook reader and I don't like reading on my laptop.

I was really happy with this book. I'm not as emotionally invested in the events in it as I was in Me Before You but overall it was an interesting read. I got to see what happened with Lou after Will's decision at the end of Me Before You. Me Before You was a really tragic book to read and this one is not like that. At first, I was really scared on what would happened with this book because of what happened with the first one but I was really satisfied and happy at the end. There were some parts that had a slow pacing and was kind of boring but the lines that Lou and the characters had were fun to read so I didn't get the urge to stop reading the book. It took me a few days to finish it because I had school and I'm still not over my reading slump.

Writing, World, Story: I find Jojo Moyes's writing really great. I like reading books that is set in Europe and I find their language fun and entertaining to read. There are words that are unique to them/ they have their own version. The story she made for this book was a really satisfying one. She gave closure and happiness to the characters that Will left behind. Many of them connected through their grief and their support with each other was really nice to read. It had a lot of subplots that pertains to a certain character and it was really great reading about them.

BEWARE: The following will kind of include spoilers.

    Characters:
    • Louisa Clark: At first, Lou got really boring. She didn't feel like living her life. She didn't find any happiness in the things that she was doing. It was nice to see her moving on after Lily gave her a purpose and she started becoming friends with the people from the group. She started becoming the Louisa I have grown to love. The scene where she punched Garside was really amazing because you could feel her intense hatred towards one of the men who ruined Lily's life. It was terrible that nothing happened to Peter though.
    • Lily: At first, I really didn't like Lily. She was a brat and she was an asshole towards Lou even though Lou really supported her. After her back story was revealed, I almost cried. She had terrible experiences growing up and it didn't help that Tanya was such a terrible mother. It was great that at the end she found someone who wanted to take care of her for who she is and someone she got along with. I felt sad when she left Lou's apartment but they weren't really related anyway.
    • Ambulance Sam: I really like Sam. He was the opposite of Will. He supported Lou and took care of her. When he first appeared, I really thought that he would Lou's partner and I was right. I liked them together and I almost threw my laptop away during the part where he got shot. I almost couldn't take it and I kept thinking that Lou was such an unlucky woman when it came to guys.
    • Tanya Miller: I really really hated this woman. It was a good thing that Camilla lectured her. She was really selfish and didn't think of her daughter that much. She denied Will of something / someone that would've probably been enough to make him stay. I kept thinking that what if Will found out about Lily. Would he stay?
‘I think she loves me. But she loves herself more. Or how could she do what she does?'
    • Camilla Traynor: I really admired her determination to connect with Lily and the way she took care of her and how they connected well was fun and interesting to read.
    • Richard Percival: I really hated this guy at first but he was fun to read about after he made up with Lou. They became friends and he supported her and stopped always criticizing what she was doing.
‘Right … Uh. Okay.’ He hesitated. ‘He was actually shot? With an actual gun?’
‘You can come and inspect the holes, if you like.’ My voice was so calm I almost laughed.
We discussed a couple more logistical details – calls that needed to be made, a visit from Head Office, and before I rang off, Richard grew silent for a moment. Then he said, ‘Louisa, is your life always like this?’
    • Donna: Sam's ambulance partner was really a supportive character. She took care of Sam and Lou at some point. I really admired that she stayed in her job even though she knew the risks.
    • The Members of the Group: That group was really fun to read. They had many dialogues that made me laugh especially with William. His side comments were the best.
If it was me that died, I’d hate the thought of Olaf falling in love with someone else.’‘You wouldn’t know,’ said William. ‘You’d be dead.’
'I don’t want anyone thinking … I mean, that’s not what I want people thinking when they think of my husband. That he had a tiny –’
‘I’m sure nobody thinks that about your husband.’
‘I will, if you keep going on about it,’ said William.
I don’t want you thinking about my husband’s penis,’ said Natasha. ‘In fact, I forbid you to think about my husband’s penis.’
‘Stop going on about it then!’ said William.

'When someone we love is snatched from us, it often feels very hard to make plans. Sometimes people feel like they have lost faith in the future, or they become superstitious.’
‘I thought I was going to die,’ said Natasha.
    ‘You are,’ said William.
    ‘Not helpful, William,’ said Marc.

    Relationships - Friendship, Family, Romance:
    • Bernard and Josie Clark: I really find these two adorable. They went through a fight throughout the book but in the end made up when Bernard humbled himself towards Josie.
‘What if she decides that I’m the one with no life? What if all this new stuff turns her head and …’ He gulped. ‘What if she leaves me behind?'
‘I don’t care. I’ve been through hell, Josie. But I’d do it again if it means we can get things back on track. I miss you. So much. I don’t care if you want to do a hundred college courses – feminist politics, Middle Eastern studies, macramé for dogs, whatever – as long as we’re together. And to prove to you exactly how far I’d go for you, I’ve booked myself in again next week, for a back, sack and – What is it?’ ‘Crack,’ said my sister, unhappily.‘Oh, God.’ My mother’s hand flew to her neck.Beside me Sam had started to shake silently. ‘Stop them,’ he murmured. ‘I’m going to bust my stitches.’
    • Lou and Sam: I find their relationship really fun and cute. They had their problems but I admired Sam for staying even Lou mentioned Will a lot during their relationship. It was great that they made up in the end. The establishment of their relationship was a really awkward scene because Lou was so wrong. HAHA. I felt bad for her and I was glad that she wasn't right. In the end, I'm glad that Sam supported her and let her do the New York thing and I hoped that everything went alright with them.
‘Stay there,’ he said, brushing the drops from his head with a hand.
‘You can’t sit around in those wet clothes.’
‘This is like the opening to a really bad porn movie,’ I said. He stood very still and I realized I had actually said the words out loud. I gave him a smile that went a bit wonky.
‘Okay,’ he said, raising his eyebrows.
He rubbed at his hair. ‘Are we still talking about Jake?’
‘Of course I’m talking about Jake. How many other sons have you got?’
     ‘Jake isn’t my son.’
     I stared at him.
'Jake is my sister’s son. Was,’ he corrected himself. ‘He’s my nephew.’
    ‘Jake’s … not your son?’
‘I don’t have any children. That I’m aware of. Though the whole Lily thing does make you wonder.’
I took his hand and shut the fridge door. ‘I need to show you something.’ His eyes lit up briefly. ‘Not that, no, you bad man. That will have to wait till later.’
‘I actually want to kill him.’
    ‘It can be arranged.’
I looked round at Sam to see if he was joking, and was the tiniest bit disappointed when I saw he was.
When she left the room, he let out a long breath, then stared at the ceiling for a moment, as if composing himself.
     ‘What?’ I said.
‘Thank God you hit him first. I was afraid I was going to kill him.’
    • Lou and Nathan: I really liked that they stayed friends even though Nathan lived in another part of the world now. He even recommended her for a job and listened to her rants and stories about Will and Lily.
    • Lou and Lily: I really liked that they developed a sort of sisterhood at the end. Even though at first they argued a lot, they really got along in the end and Lou was able to connect with her even though the thing that connected them was a really terrible thing. It was hard to read about Lou worrying about Lily especially when she was missing.
‘My dad had the hots for you. How mad is that?’ She gasped. ‘Oh, my God! In a different universe, you could have been MY STEPMUM.’
We gazed at each other in mock-horror and somehow this fact swelled between us until a bubble of merriment lodged in my chest. I began to laugh, the kind of laugh that verges on hysteria, that makes your stomach hurt, where the mere act of looking at someone sets you off again.
    ‘Did you have sex?’
    And that killed it.
    • Lou and Treena: I really liked reading about their sisterhood. Even though Treena always criticized what Lou was doing, she was there to help her when she had problems. I liked the fact that Lou let Treena and Thom stay at her apartment.
'Okay. Well, I do remember reading a thing in social psychology about how teenagers find too much face-to-face contact exhausting.’
‘You want me to talk to her through a door?’ One day I would have a telephone conversation with my sister that didn’t involve the weary sigh of someone explaining something to a halfwit.
    • The Traynors and Lily: I really liked that in the end Lily was adored by all the Traynors. Especially, Georgina. Even though they had issues at first, they were able to resolve it and they became the family that Lily wanted and deserved. Unlike her mother, they took care of her and didn't judge her.
    • The Clarks: I really like their family relationship. It was great that even though they had issues, when they're together you would really feel their bond. The way Josie and Bernard supported Lou after her accident and was proud of her in the end after she got her life sorted.
Dad rubbed his chest. ‘Is there anything else?’
    ‘Like what?’
‘Anything else you need to tell me. You know, apart from jumping off buildings and bringing home long-lost children. You’re not joining the circus, or adopting a kid from Kazakhstan or something?’
‘I promise I am doing none of the above. Yet.'

    Some of My Favorite Lines:
And when it came down to it, what was the point in re-examining your sadness all the time anyway? It was like picking at a wound and refusing to let it heal. I knew what I had been part of. I knew what my role was. What was the point in going over and over it?
    ‘Wow. What are you wearing?’
‘I – I work in an Irish pub.’
    ‘Pole dancing?’
Sometimes I felt as if we were all wading around in grief, reluctant to admit to others how far we were waving or drowning.
But no: the cottage was brutally impersonal. I thought of my own flat, my utter failure to personalize it or allow myself to turn it into any kind of a home. And I felt suddenly leaden, and desperately sad.
What have you done to us all, Will?
‘You know the real difference between you and your dad? Even when he was at his unhappiest he wouldn’t have treated anyone like this.’
'And I have huge admiration for you picking yourself up and moving on. Sometimes just getting through each day requires almost superhuman strength.'
    ‘With accommodation,’ I said quietly.
‘And you wouldn’t have to wear that godawful shiny green dress?’
‘I hardly think my outfit was a good enough reason to emigrate.’ I laughed. Nobody else did. ‘Oh, come on,’ I said.
‘If anything, I like you too much. I like you so much that if it went wrong it would feel like that again. And I’m not sure I’m strong enough.’
‘How is that going to happen?’
‘You might go off me. You might change your mind. You’re a good-looking bloke. Some other woman might fall off a building and land on you and you might like it. You could get ill. You could get knocked off that motorbike.'
‘Last night. When I was bleeding out. I heard you.’
Our eyes locked. And in that moment everything shifted. I saw what I had really done. I saw that I could be somebody’s centre, their reason for staying. I saw that I could be enough.
‘Lou, I don’t know what will happen. Nobody ever does. You can set out one morning and step in front of a motorbike and your whole life can change. You can go to work on a routine job and get shot by a teenager who thinks that’s what it takes to be a man.’
‘You can fall off a tall building.’
‘You can. Or you can go to visit a bloke wearing a nightie in a hospital bed and get the best job offer you can imagine. That’s life. We don’t know what will happen. Which is why we have to take our chances while we can. And … I think this might be yours.’

‘And what we learn through sharing our memories and our sadnesses and our little victories with each other is that it’s okay to feel sad. Or lost. Or angry. It’s okay to feel a whole host of things that other people might not understand, and often for a long time. Everyone has his or her own journey. We don’t judge.'
‘Except the biscuits,’ muttered Fred. ‘I judge those Rich Teas. They were shocking.’
‘And that, impossible as it may feel at first, we will each get to a point where we can rejoice in the fact that every person we have discussed and mourned and grieved over was here, walking among us – and whether they were taken after six months or sixty years, we were lucky to have them.’
And then, holding my passport tight in my hand, I turned away. He would be there, watching as my plane gathered speed and lifted into the great blue sky beyond. And, with luck, he would be there, waiting, when I came home again.

    2016 Movies I'm Excited to Watch! :D

These are the movies I really want to watch. It's either based from a book, a sequel, or something that intrigued me after watching the trailer. The dates included are the current release date I know. Click on the titles for the trailers/sneak peeks.

    1) Me Before You: June 3, 2016
Me Before You is based on a novel by Jojo Moyes. It revolves around Will, a quadriplegic man, and Louisa, his caretaker. I've already read the book and ever since it was announced that a movie is going to be made, I really wanted to watch it. I love the cast. Emilia Clarke is my favorite character in Game of Thrones and based from the trailer, I really like her portrayal as Lou. Sam Claflin, though I didn't really like him that much at first, I felt alright with him as Will. His eyebrow thing really made me smile. After watching the trailer, I curled up into a fetal position and rocked back and forth. I was really emotionally attached to the characters in the book and seeing them in real life, was just a precious moment. Seeing scenes I loved from the book was really lovely. Especially the bumblee tights. I can't wait for it to come out!

    2) Deadpool: February 12, 2016
I'm usually not excited for superhero movies but I really want to watch this one. I've persuaded my friends to watch it with me when it comes out. I'm really excited for this because I like Ryan Reynolds. He's really funny and his portrayal based from the trailer, was fun to watch.

    3) Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: February 5, 2016
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is literally an adaption of Pride and Prejudice with Zombies in it. I've read the book back when I was in Second Year High School and really enjoyed it. It's interesting that it was adapted to a film and the trailer was really interesting to watch. Full of action and gore. I love the fact that Charles Dance and Lena Headey are both there.  I find them really interesting to watch in Game of Thrones.

    4) Gods of Egypt: February 26, 2016
I've been excited about this even before the trailer was released. I like reading about Egyptian Mythology related stuffs and since this movie is based on a war between Set and Horus, I want to watch it. The graphics and action scenes were really great and I can't wait for it to be available. Plus, I like Gerard Butler and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.

    5)  The Boss: April 8, 2016
I find the trailer quite funny. Plus, Melissa McCarthy and Kristin Bell!

    6) Finding Dory: June 17, 2016
Finding Nemo was one of the movies I frequently watched when I was younger and I loved Dory. It's interesting to get a sequel 13 years later and I want to find out what happens with Dory.

    7) Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them: November 18, 2016
I'm really really excited to watch this movie. It's not related to the Harry Potter we know and love but it's an extension of the world and just seeing any part of the Wizarding World that JK Rowling created makes me so happy. I really loved Harry Potter and being part of that world again makes nostalgic. Since JK Rowling wrote the screenplay for thi film, I know that it will be amazing. Knowing that Eddie Redmayne will be the lead is also awesome because I love him.

    8) The Huntsman Winter's War: April 22, 2016
I didn't watch Snow White and the Huntsman but I wanted to watch this. I love the cast for this film: Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron, Jessica Chastain and Emily Blunt.

    9) Alice Through the Looking Glass: May 27, 2016
I'm not particularly fond of Alice in Wonderland however after seeing the trailer, I really wanted to watch this. It's full of magic and mayhem. I really love the cast. I find it quite funny that majority of the main cast here was also in Sweeney Todd: Johnny Depp, Alan Rickman, Helena Bonham Carter, Sacha Baron Cohen, Timothy Spall. Plus, it's the final film that Alan Rickman was in.

    10) The Forest: January 8, 2016:
I probably won't watch this alone because one scene of the trailer scared me. I don't even want to search for it again and put the trailer here. I find the plot interesting but I'm not brave enough to watch it alone. Plus, Natalie Dormer!

    11) The Angry Birds Movie: May 20, 2016
I really had fun watching the trailer. I don't really play the game but the birds looked really fluffy in the film. I like the fact that Peter Dinklage is the voice of the eagle. XD

    12) A Monster Calls: October 14, 2016
I have read the book it's based on and loved it. It was a heartbreaking story and I find it quite nice that it's being adapted into a film. Plus, the voice of the monster is Liam Neeson!!!

    13) Doctor Strange: November 4, 2016
I don't know anything about Doctor Strange but I heard that Benedict Cumberbatch is perfect for the role. I really like Benedict Cumberbatch. He's a brilliant actor and I'm excited to see him as a superhero.

    14) Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children: December 25, 2016
There's no trailer for this yet. I really liked the book and I'm excited how it will be adapted. It's really great that Tim Burton is the director for this film because he's perfect for it. It's just sad that Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter isn't part of the cast.

    15) Other Superhero Movies: Suicide Squad (August 5, 2016); Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (March 24, 2016); X-Men Apocalypse (May 27, 2016); Captain America: Civil War (May 6, 2016)
There's so many superhero movies that's coming out this year. I'm not particularly excited to watch these but I think it will be great. I didn't read comics (mostly because I don't own them and I don't have money to buy them) but it will be fun to watch their adaptations.

    16) Underworld: Next Generation: October 21, 2016
There isn't any trailer or news about it except that it's going to be released this year. I'm not sure how I feel about this because of the last underworld movie but I still want to watch this.

    17) Let It Snow: December 6, 2016
I read the book last year and I liked it. It's a nice movie to watch during Christmas season and I hope that it really premieres on December 6 because there's no news about it except for the release date.

Deleted Books from my TBR :)

I decided to look at my to read list in goodreads and I realized that there were books there i'll probably end up not reading anymore because I've lost interest or one of my friends read it and did not enjoy it.
    1. Every Day by David Levithan: I wanted to read it back when I was in high school but almost 3 year have passed and I still haven't gotten around to it. My friend tried to read it last year and she didn't enjoy it that much.
    2. The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han: I wanted to read this because I read To All the Boys I've Loved Before and I loved that but when I decided to read this, I ended up just reading the first few chapters and I didn't enjoy it. I didn't like the writing and the characters and the love triangle.
    3. Matched by Ally Condie: I was really intrigued by this when it first came out but I never read it. I own Reached (because I saw it in a warehouse sale for a cheap price) but I'm really not in the mood to read Dystopian books and it has mixed reviews.
    4. Assasin's Heart by Sarah Ahiers: I do not remember where I saw this and I do not remember what it is about. I read the summary and did not really like it so not going to read it.
    5. Crewel by Gennifer Albin: Another Dystopian i'll probably not end up reading anymore. Mixed reviews. I think I just added it to my TBR because the cover is really pretty.
    6. Half Blood by Jennifer L Armentrout: I wanted to read this before because it's based on Mythologies and I really like books based on that but I'm really not in the mood to read books that has more than 3 books anymore so yeah.
    7. The Maze Runner by James Dashner: Another kind of dystopian (?) book series. I liked the movie (Dylan O' Brien <3) enough but it did not motivate me enough to read the book.
    8. I Was Here & If I Stay by Gayle Forman: I read the Just One Day duology by Gayle Forman but I didn't enjoy it enough to motivate me to read another book by her.
    9. Evernight by Claudia Gray: I wanted to read this back when I was in High School and right now I'm thinking I'll never read it. I'm really not in the mood for Academy or Boarding School based fantasy books anymore. Plus, 5 books.
    10. Half Bad by Sally Green: I'm really not fond of witches story so I'll end up not reading this ever.
    11. Frostfire by Amanda Hocking: I read Wake by Amanda Hocking and ended up not enjoying it that much. I did not like the summary of the book and now I'm thinking why was it in my TBR in the first place.
    12. Hello, I Love You by Katie M. Stout: I was excited for this book before it came out. I was interested because I liked the summary but when I read it, I probably reached until the first 50 pages, I didn't enjoy it. The main character was really whiny and annoying. She keeps complaining about being in Korea when it was her choice to move there, not knowing anything about the place and the language. It was really annoying and the male characters weren't that interesting too. Especially the lead one, he was really arrogant and snobbish.

    Lucifer S01EP1 :D

I saw the trailer for this before and I found it interesting.  When I saw that it was available, I decided to watch it. I really liked it. I found Tom Ellis as Lucifer quite fun. He was really sarcastic throughout the episode. Plus, his accent. It was quite weird watching a Lucifer that was kind of nice and merciful though but I liked it. I'm excited for the next episodes!

    ===========================================================================================

SUMMARY (SPOILER): The episode revolved around Lucifer who left hell and decided to live in Los Angeles. He kept rejecting Amenadiel about going back to hell. Meanwhile, a friend of his, Delilah, gets killed and he decides to go and search for the one who paid the guy who killed her. He tags along with Chloe, a detective, after she caught him looking for suspects himself and together they looked for the guy who wanted Delilah dead.

    THINGS I LIKED (SPOILER):

    • I really like the animation with Amenadiel's wings. It looked so cool.
    • Tom Ellis really portrayed Lucifer in a interesting and fun way. His humor and lines were funny and he was such a badass character during serious scenes. You would really feel scared when he was mad.
    • I like Chloe and Lucifer together. They got attached to each other easily even though they had nothing in common at first. I find their relationship interesting and fun to watch.
    • I like the scenes where Lucifer interacted with Trixie. She really liked him and it was fun watching him act towards her because he didn't like children.
