Top 10 Book Series I Love :D

This is a list of book series that I have read all over the years and loved. This are the books that I usually suggest to my friends. It only contains book series that are already complete.

1) Harry Potter by JK Rowling

I wasn't going to write this as the number one because I feel like it's implied but oh well. I really really love this series. This is the series that introduced me to how wonderful reading is. The wizarding world is a very amazing one. I'm glad to have been part of the generation who grew up with it. I reread this back in 2014 and god, it was amazing af. 

2) The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare

I read this when I was a fourth year high school student and I loved it (except for the last book because it came out after I graduated). Cassandra Clare's shadowhunter world is a really amazing one and her writing is fabulous. I love the characters, especially William Herondale, and their relationships with each other. All of the love stories, even the side characters, are really written well and would really make you feel a lot of things. When I reread this back in 2014, I was still amazed. It still made me feel a lot of things and I cried at the end even though I was in a public area. 

3) Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor

I read this back in 2014. Laini Taylor's writing is very mesmerizing. I didn't think I would fall in love with angel books again but after I read this, wow. I love that this was set in Prague because it's the first time I read a book that was set in Prague. The fact that the chimaeras were the good side was really interesting to me because usually angels are the ones that are in the good side. The plot's twists and turns were really fun to read but there were also scenes that were really heartbreaking and I wished never happened.

4) Angelfall by Susan Ee

I read this last year and it was my top read of the year. I usually don't like post-apocalyptic books but this one was really worth the read. The fast pace of the book really made me like it. I finished it quite quickly and loved it a lot. The characters were really great and their conversations were really interesting and fun to read for a post-apocalyptic book. I shouted a lot when I was reading the last book which made my parents wonder if I was going insane.

5) The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare

This ranked lower than the Infernal Devices because there were times that I felt kind of bored even though I still loved it. I decided to reread it last year but I never finished the City of Fallen Angels again. Maybe I'm biased towards The Infernal Devices because I really love books that are set in the Victorian London. Still, the plot of this series was a unique and interesting one. I love how the characters here have some connections with the character from the Infernal Devices. I really suggest reading Infernal Devices first before this series to appreciate it more. 

6) Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

This is my favorite vampire series as of now. The vampire world Richelle Mead created was a really interesting one with different types of vampires that were easy to read and love. Except Strigoi - they're assholes. I love the plot and the characters of this book more than the spin-off, Bloodlines (but I still loved that series). 

7) Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan

This book series started my addiction with mythology based books. I love Rick Riordan's writings and the fact that he created a world where different mythology exists and interacts - Egyptian, Norse, Roman, and Greek. When I read it, the series was already finished and I marathoned it during the summer break after my first year of high school. I love the stories and the characters that Rick Riordan. Percy Jackson will always be one of my fictional crushes. 

8) Sea Breeze by Abbi Glines

This is the only non-fantasy book series in this list. I really like this series even though Abbi Glines's stories usually follow the 'good girl falls in love with a bad guy' concept. I have read all the books she has written and even though I didn't love all of them, I loved the Sea Breeze. I can't put Rosemary Beach here because it's not yet finished. I love that all of the stories in this series contains different characters but they all live in Sea Breeze. You would see characters from the previous books interact with the new pairings.

 

9) The Goddess Test by Aimee Carter

This is one of the series I read during my addiction with Greek Mythology based stories and I loved it. I love the concept of using the Hades-Persephone story as a basis and the story Aimee Carter created with it. I love how the gods here changed their names to follow the trend of the humans. Henry - Hades, is one of the fictional characters I loved because of his intense love for his family and the one he loves. I reread this back in 2014 and guess what, I still had the same feelings for it.

10) The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

As of now, this is the only dystopian series that I loved. I loved Suzanne Collins's writing and the story she created. After I read it the first time, I decided to read it again although I stopped at Catching Fire because my heart couldn't take Mockingjay. I love that the film adaption was accurate to the books even though I didn't love the male lead cast of the film. 

This semester.

This semester's been really hectic and also I've kind of been in a reading slump so I haven't read anything much for this year. So far, for February I've only read After You by Jojo Moyes and for this month only Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare - review to come next week or this weekend. I've enjoyed reading that. I couldn't concentrate on academic stuffs until i finished it. Hopefully next week during our short break for this semester, I would be able to finish Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard and A Gathering of Shadows by VE Schwab but i'm still not sure because I have exams the following week. This month's been really a stressful one. I have an exam/exams scheduled for every week for this month.

I was really excited to find out that Me Before You had a sequel. I don't know why I didn't read it as soon as it came out. Probably because the copy I have doesn't work properly in my ebook reader and I don't like reading on my laptop.

I was really happy with this book. I'm not as emotionally invested in the events in it as I was in Me Before You but overall it was an interesting read. I got to see what happened with Lou after Will's decision at the end of Me Before You. Me Before You was a really tragic book to read and this one is not like that. At first, I was really scared on what would happened with this book because of what happened with the first one but I was really satisfied and happy at the end. There were some parts that had a slow pacing and was kind of boring but the lines that Lou and the characters had were fun to read so I didn't get the urge to stop reading the book. It took me a few days to finish it because I had school and I'm still not over my reading slump.

Writing, World, Story: I find Jojo Moyes's writing really great. I like reading books that is set in Europe and I find their language fun and entertaining to read. There are words that are unique to them/ they have their own version. The story she made for this book was a really satisfying one. She gave closure and happiness to the characters that Will left behind. Many of them connected through their grief and their support with each other was really nice to read. It had a lot of subplots that pertains to a certain character and it was really great reading about them.

BEWARE: The following will kind of include spoilers.

Characters:

• Louisa Clark: At first, Lou got really boring. She didn't feel like living her life. She didn't find any happiness in the things that she was doing. It was nice to see her moving on after Lily gave her a purpose and she started becoming friends with the people from the group. She started becoming the Louisa I have grown to love. The scene where she punched Garside was really amazing because you could feel her intense hatred towards one of the men who ruined Lily's life. It was terrible that nothing happened to Peter though.
• Lily: At first, I really didn't like Lily. She was a brat and she was an asshole towards Lou even though Lou really supported her. After her back story was revealed, I almost cried. She had terrible experiences growing up and it didn't help that Tanya was such a terrible mother. It was great that at the end she found someone who wanted to take care of her for who she is and someone she got along with. I felt sad when she left Lou's apartment but they weren't really related anyway. 
• Ambulance Sam: I really like Sam. He was the opposite of Will. He supported Lou and took care of her. When he first appeared, I really thought that he would Lou's partner and I was right. I liked them together and I almost threw my laptop away during the part where he got shot. I almost couldn't take it and I kept thinking that Lou was such an unlucky woman when it came to guys.
• Tanya Miller: I really really hated this woman. It was a good thing that Camilla lectured her. She was really selfish and didn't think of her daughter that much. She denied Will of something / someone that would've probably been enough to make him stay. I kept thinking that what if Will found out about Lily. Would he stay?

‘I think she loves me. But she loves herself more. Or how could she do what she does?'

• Camilla Traynor: I really admired her determination to connect with Lily and the way she took care of her and how they connected well was fun and interesting to read.
• Richard Percival: I really hated this guy at first but he was fun to read about after he made up with Lou. They became friends and he supported her and stopped always criticizing what she was doing. 

‘Right … Uh. Okay.’ He hesitated. ‘He was actually shot? With an actual gun?’
‘You can come and inspect the holes, if you like.’ My voice was so calm I almost laughed.
We discussed a couple more logistical details – calls that needed to be made, a visit from Head Office, and before I rang off, Richard grew silent for a moment. Then he said, ‘Louisa, is your life always like this?’

• Donna: Sam's ambulance partner was really a supportive character. She took care of Sam and Lou at some point. I really admired that she stayed in her job even though she knew the risks.

• The Members of the Group: That group was really fun to read. They had many dialogues that made me laugh especially with William. His side comments were the best. 

If it was me that died, I’d hate the thought of Olaf falling in love with someone else.’‘You wouldn’t know,’ said William. ‘You’d be dead.’

'I don’t want anyone thinking … I mean, that’s not what I want people thinking when they think of my husband. That he had a tiny –’
‘I’m sure nobody thinks that about your husband.’
‘I will, if you keep going on about it,’ said William.
I don’t want you thinking about my husband’s penis,’ said Natasha. ‘In fact, I forbid you to think about my husband’s penis.’
‘Stop going on about it then!’ said William. 

'When someone we love is snatched from us, it often feels very hard to make plans. Sometimes people feel like they have lost faith in the future, or they become superstitious.’
‘I thought I was going to die,’ said Natasha.
‘You are,’ said William.
‘Not helpful, William,’ said Marc.  

Relationships - Friendship, Family, Romance:

• Bernard and Josie Clark: I really find these two adorable. They went through a fight throughout the book but in the end made up when Bernard humbled himself towards Josie. 

‘What if she decides that I’m the one with no life? What if all this new stuff turns her head and …’ He gulped. ‘What if she leaves me behind?' 

‘I don’t care. I’ve been through hell, Josie. But I’d do it again if it means we can get things back on track. I miss you. So much. I don’t care if you want to do a hundred college courses – feminist politics, Middle Eastern studies, macramé for dogs, whatever – as long as we’re together. And to prove to you exactly how far I’d go for you, I’ve booked myself in again next week, for a back, sack and – What is it?’ ‘Crack,’ said my sister, unhappily.‘Oh, God.’ My mother’s hand flew to her neck.Beside me Sam had started to shake silently. ‘Stop them,’ he murmured. ‘I’m going to bust my stitches.’

• Lou and Sam: I find their relationship really fun and cute. They had their problems but I admired Sam for staying even Lou mentioned Will a lot during their relationship. It was great that they made up in the end. The establishment of their relationship was a really awkward scene because Lou was so wrong. HAHA. I felt bad for her and I was glad that she wasn't right. In the end, I'm glad that Sam supported her and let her do the New York thing and I hoped that everything went alright with them.

‘Stay there,’ he said, brushing the drops from his head with a hand.
‘You can’t sit around in those wet clothes.’
‘This is like the opening to a really bad porn movie,’ I said. He stood very still and I realized I had actually said the words out loud. I gave him a smile that went a bit wonky.
‘Okay,’ he said, raising his eyebrows. 

He rubbed at his hair. ‘Are we still talking about Jake?’
 ‘Of course I’m talking about Jake. How many other sons have you got?’
 ‘Jake isn’t my son.’
 I stared at him.
 'Jake is my sister’s son. Was,’ he corrected himself. ‘He’s my nephew.’

‘Jake’s … not your son?’
‘I don’t have any children. That I’m aware of. Though the whole Lily thing does make you wonder.’

I took his hand and shut the fridge door. ‘I need to show you something.’ His eyes lit up briefly. ‘Not that, no, you bad man. That will have to wait till later.’

‘I actually want to kill him.’
‘It can be arranged.’
I looked round at Sam to see if he was joking, and was the tiniest bit disappointed when I saw he was. 

 When she left the room, he let out a long breath, then stared at the ceiling for a moment, as if composing himself.
 ‘What?’ I said.
‘Thank God you hit him first. I was afraid I was going to kill him.’

• Lou and Nathan: I really liked that they stayed friends even though Nathan lived in another part of the world now. He even recommended her for a job and listened to her rants and stories about Will and Lily.
• Lou and Lily: I really liked that they developed a sort of sisterhood at the end. Even though at first they argued a lot, they really got along in the end and Lou was able to connect with her even though the thing that connected them was a really terrible thing. It was hard to read about Lou worrying about Lily especially when she was missing.

‘My dad had the hots for you. How mad is that?’ She gasped. ‘Oh, my God! In a different universe, you could have been MY STEPMUM.’
We gazed at each other in mock-horror and somehow this fact swelled between us until a bubble of merriment lodged in my chest. I began to laugh, the kind of laugh that verges on hysteria, that makes your stomach hurt, where the mere act of looking at someone sets you off again.
‘Did you have sex?’
And that killed it.

• Lou and Treena: I really liked reading about their sisterhood. Even though Treena always criticized what Lou was doing, she was there to help her when she had problems. I liked the fact that Lou let Treena and Thom stay at her apartment.

 'Okay. Well, I do remember reading a thing in social psychology about how teenagers find too much face-to-face contact exhausting.’
 ‘You want me to talk to her through a door?’ One day I would have a telephone conversation with my sister that didn’t involve the weary sigh of someone explaining something to a halfwit.

• The Traynors and Lily: I really liked that in the end Lily was adored by all the Traynors. Especially, Georgina. Even though they had issues at first, they were able to resolve it and they became the family that Lily wanted and deserved. Unlike her mother, they took care of her and didn't judge her.
• The Clarks: I really like their family relationship. It was great that even though they had issues, when they're together you would really feel their bond. The way Josie and Bernard supported Lou after her accident and was proud of her in the end after she got her life sorted.

 Dad rubbed his chest. ‘Is there anything else?’
‘Like what?’
‘Anything else you need to tell me. You know, apart from jumping off buildings and bringing home long-lost children. You’re not joining the circus, or adopting a kid from Kazakhstan or something?’
‘I promise I am doing none of the above. Yet.'

Some of My Favorite Lines:

And when it came down to it, what was the point in re-examining your sadness all the time anyway? It was like picking at a wound and refusing to let it heal. I knew what I had been part of. I knew what my role was. What was the point in going over and over it?

‘Wow. What are you wearing?’
‘I – I work in an Irish pub.’
‘Pole dancing?’ 

Sometimes I felt as if we were all wading around in grief, reluctant to admit to others how far we were waving or drowning.

But no: the cottage was brutally impersonal. I thought of my own flat, my utter failure to personalize it or allow myself to turn it into any kind of a home. And I felt suddenly leaden, and desperately sad.

‘You know the real difference between you and your dad? Even when he was at his unhappiest he wouldn’t have treated anyone like this.’

'And I have huge admiration for you picking yourself up and moving on. Sometimes just getting through each day requires almost superhuman strength.'

‘With accommodation,’ I said quietly.
 ‘And you wouldn’t have to wear that godawful shiny green dress?’
‘I hardly think my outfit was a good enough reason to emigrate.’ I laughed. Nobody else did. ‘Oh, come on,’ I said.

‘If anything, I like you too much. I like you so much that if it went wrong it would feel like that again. And I’m not sure I’m strong enough.’
‘How is that going to happen?’
‘You might go off me. You might change your mind. You’re a good-looking bloke. Some other woman might fall off a building and land on you and you might like it. You could get ill. You could get knocked off that motorbike.'

2016 Movies I'm Excited to Watch! :D

These are the movies I really want to watch. It's either based from a book, a sequel, or something that intrigued me after watching the trailer. The dates included are the current release date I know. Click on the titles for the trailers/sneak peeks.

1) Me Before You: June 3, 2016
Me Before You is based on a novel by Jojo Moyes. It revolves around Will, a quadriplegic man, and Louisa, his caretaker. I've already read the book and ever since it was announced that a movie is going to be made, I really wanted to watch it. I love the cast. Emilia Clarke is my favorite character in Game of Thrones and based from the trailer, I really like her portrayal as Lou. Sam Claflin, though I didn't really like him that much at first, I felt alright with him as Will. His eyebrow thing really made me smile. After watching the trailer, I curled up into a fetal position and rocked back and forth. I was really emotionally attached to the characters in the book and seeing them in real life, was just a precious moment. Seeing scenes I loved from the book was really lovely. Especially the bumblee tights. I can't wait for it to come out!

2) Deadpool: February 12, 2016
I'm usually not excited for superhero movies but I really want to watch this one. I've persuaded my friends to watch it with me when it comes out. I'm really excited for this because I like Ryan Reynolds. He's really funny and his portrayal based from the trailer, was fun to watch.

3) Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: February 5, 2016
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is literally an adaption of Pride and Prejudice with Zombies in it. I've read the book back when I was in Second Year High School and really enjoyed it. It's interesting that it was adapted to a film and the trailer was really interesting to watch. Full of action and gore. I love the fact that Charles Dance and Lena Headey are both there.  I find them really interesting to watch in Game of Thrones.

4) Gods of Egypt: February 26, 2016
I've been excited about this even before the trailer was released. I like reading about Egyptian Mythology related stuffs and since this movie is based on a war between Set and Horus, I want to watch it. The graphics and action scenes were really great and I can't wait for it to be available. Plus, I like Gerard Butler and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.

5)  The Boss: April 8, 2016
I find the trailer quite funny. Plus, Melissa McCarthy and Kristin Bell!

6) Finding Dory: June 17, 2016
Finding Nemo was one of the movies I frequently watched when I was younger and I loved Dory. It's interesting to get a sequel 13 years later and I want to find out what happens with Dory.

7) Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them: November 18, 2016
I'm really really excited to watch this movie. It's not related to the Harry Potter we know and love but it's an extension of the world and just seeing any part of the Wizarding World that JK Rowling created makes me so happy. I really loved Harry Potter and being part of that world again makes nostalgic. Since JK Rowling wrote the screenplay for thi film, I know that it will be amazing. Knowing that Eddie Redmayne will be the lead is also awesome because I love him.

8) The Huntsman Winter's War: April 22, 2016
I didn't watch Snow White and the Huntsman but I wanted to watch this. I love the cast for this film: Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron, Jessica Chastain and Emily Blunt.

9) Alice Through the Looking Glass: May 27, 2016
I'm not particularly fond of Alice in Wonderland however after seeing the trailer, I really wanted to watch this. It's full of magic and mayhem. I really love the cast. I find it quite funny that majority of the main cast here was also in Sweeney Todd: Johnny Depp, Alan Rickman, Helena Bonham Carter, Sacha Baron Cohen, Timothy Spall. Plus, it's the final film that Alan Rickman was in.

10) The Forest: January 8, 2016:
I probably won't watch this alone because one scene of the trailer scared me. I don't even want to search for it again and put the trailer here. I find the plot interesting but I'm not brave enough to watch it alone. Plus, Natalie Dormer!

11) The Angry Birds Movie: May 20, 2016
I really had fun watching the trailer. I don't really play the game but the birds looked really fluffy in the film. I like the fact that Peter Dinklage is the voice of the eagle. XD

12) A Monster Calls: October 14, 2016
I have read the book it's based on and loved it. It was a heartbreaking story and I find it quite nice that it's being adapted into a film. Plus, the voice of the monster is Liam Neeson!!!

13) Doctor Strange: November 4, 2016
I don't know anything about Doctor Strange but I heard that Benedict Cumberbatch is perfect for the role. I really like Benedict Cumberbatch. He's a brilliant actor and I'm excited to see him as a superhero.

14) Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children: December 25, 2016
There's no trailer for this yet. I really liked the book and I'm excited how it will be adapted. It's really great that Tim Burton is the director for this film because he's perfect for it. It's just sad that Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter isn't part of the cast.

15) Other Superhero Movies: Suicide Squad (August 5, 2016); Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (March 24, 2016); X-Men Apocalypse (May 27, 2016); Captain America: Civil War (May 6, 2016)
There's so many superhero movies that's coming out this year. I'm not particularly excited to watch these but I think it will be great. I didn't read comics (mostly because I don't own them and I don't have money to buy them) but it will be fun to watch their adaptations.

16) Underworld: Next Generation: October 21, 2016 
There isn't any trailer or news about it except that it's going to be released this year. I'm not sure how I feel about this because of the last underworld movie but I still want to watch this.

17) Let It Snow: December 6, 2016
I read the book last year and I liked it. It's a nice movie to watch during Christmas season and I hope that it really premieres on December 6 because there's no news about it except for the release date.

Deleted Books from my TBR :)

I decided to look at my to read list in goodreads and I realized that there were books there i'll probably end up not reading anymore because I've lost interest or one of my friends read it and did not enjoy it.

1. Every Day by David Levithan: I wanted to read it back when I was in high school but almost 3 year have passed and I still haven't gotten around to it. My friend tried to read it last year and she didn't enjoy it that much.
2. The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han: I wanted to read this because I read To All the Boys I've Loved Before and I loved that but when I decided to read this, I ended up just reading the first few chapters and I didn't enjoy it. I didn't like the writing and the characters and the love triangle. 
3. Matched by Ally Condie: I was really intrigued by this when it first came out but I never read it. I own Reached (because I saw it in a warehouse sale for a cheap price) but I'm really not in the mood to read Dystopian books and it has mixed reviews.
4. Assasin's Heart by Sarah Ahiers: I do not remember where I saw this and I do not remember what it is about. I read the summary and did not really like it so not going to read it.
5. Crewel by Gennifer Albin: Another Dystopian i'll probably not end up reading anymore. Mixed reviews. I think I just added it to my TBR because the cover is really pretty.
6. Half Blood by Jennifer L Armentrout: I wanted to read this before because it's based on Mythologies and I really like books based on that but I'm really not in the mood to read books that has more than 3 books anymore so yeah.
7. The Maze Runner by James Dashner: Another kind of dystopian (?) book series. I liked the movie (Dylan O' Brien <3) enough but it did not motivate me enough to read the book.
8. I Was Here & If I Stay by Gayle Forman: I read the Just One Day duology by Gayle Forman but I didn't enjoy it enough to motivate me to read another book by her. 
9. Evernight by Claudia Gray: I wanted to read this back when I was in High School and right now I'm thinking I'll never read it. I'm really not in the mood for Academy or Boarding School based fantasy books anymore. Plus, 5 books.
10. Half Bad by Sally Green: I'm really not fond of witches story so I'll end up not reading this ever.
11. Frostfire by Amanda Hocking: I read Wake by Amanda Hocking and ended up not enjoying it that much. I did not like the summary of the book and now I'm thinking why was it in my TBR in the first place.
12. Hello, I Love You by Katie M. Stout: I was excited for this book before it came out. I was interested because I liked the summary but when I read it, I probably reached until the first 50 pages, I didn't enjoy it. The main character was really whiny and annoying. She keeps complaining about being in Korea when it was her choice to move there, not knowing anything about the place and the language. It was really annoying and the male characters weren't that interesting too. Especially the lead one, he was really arrogant and snobbish.

Lucifer S01EP1 :D

I saw the trailer for this before and I found it interesting.  When I saw that it was available, I decided to watch it. I really liked it. I found Tom Ellis as Lucifer quite fun. He was really sarcastic throughout the episode. Plus, his accent. It was quite weird watching a Lucifer that was kind of nice and merciful though but I liked it. I'm excited for the next episodes!

SUMMARY (SPOILER): The episode revolved around Lucifer who left hell and decided to live in Los Angeles. He kept rejecting Amenadiel about going back to hell. Meanwhile, a friend of his, Delilah, gets killed and he decides to go and search for the one who paid the guy who killed her. He tags along with Chloe, a detective, after she caught him looking for suspects himself and together they looked for the guy who wanted Delilah dead.

THINGS I LIKED (SPOILER):

• I really like the animation with Amenadiel's wings. It looked so cool.
• Tom Ellis really portrayed Lucifer in a interesting and fun way. His humor and lines were funny and he was such a badass character during serious scenes. You would really feel scared when he was mad.
• I like Chloe and Lucifer together. They got attached to each other easily even though they had nothing in common at first. I find their relationship interesting and fun to watch. 
• I like the scenes where Lucifer interacted with Trixie. She really liked him and it was fun watching him act towards her because he didn't like children.

SOME OF MY FAVORITE SCENES (SPOILER):

Shadowhunters S01E03 :)

I really enjoyed this episode. I still had issues with the graphics because it kind of looked ridiculous (especially with the burning of the vampires) but overall the episode was fun and entertaining. The twist they did to the plot was alright and I'm excited to watch more. Camille and Meliorn were introduced earlier than the book but it made sense as to why they had to appear. I'm really excited for the next episode because of the preview at the end of this episode! So excited for Magnus Bane. I was really happy when Camille mentioned Magnus in this episode.

SUMMARY (SPOILER): The entire episode revolved around the how they were going to rescue Simon from the vampires after Clary's begged them to help her. Camille wanted the cup for herself because she wanted to be more powerful and wants to trade Simon for Clary. She enchants Simon in order to find out where the cup is but he did not know nothing. Meanwhile, the Shadowhunters plan on how to find an entrance to Hotel Dumort and where to find weapons because they're going on a mission that was not Clave approved. They found weapons from a church cemetery but Alec went back to the institute because there wasn't a bow there. They separated from each other, Jace taught Clary basics on how to handle a seraph blade and they stole a modified vampire motorcycle, Alec went to get a bow, and Izzy went to Meliorn to find out how to enter Hotel Dumort discretely (apparently he's been seeing Camille too). Izzy and Alec entered through the secret entrance and distracted the other vampires while Jace and Clary entered through the rooftop to find Simon. Raphael told Camille to run so she wouldn't get caught and he threatened to kill Simon if the Shadowhunters didn't leave. He set Simon free and Clary was glad that he was brought back to them safely.

PROS / THINGS I LIKED (SPOILER):

David Castro as Raphael Santiago: I really like him as Raphael. I really liked Raphael in the book (even though he's kind of evil at first) and he was able to portray him as the Raphael I liked. I just feel bad now because I know what happens to him in the book. I was really happy with him except for his make up.

I like Izzy's interactions with Alec was really fun to watch. 

I still can't see the sassy and fierce Izzy I want but I'm beginning to like Emeraude. I really like how her whip moved during the fight scene but where's her ruby pendant! I also liked seeing Meliorn. I liked seeing them together even though they kind of just have a fling.

I fangirled a lot all throughout the episode because Matthew Daddario is really really handsome.

Simon pretending to be drunk (or was he really drunk?) was really adorable. He was so cute.

Alec's sassiness. That eye roll towards Izzy was perfect. Siblings.

He was so happy when she said, 'I couldn't live without you Simon' but his sudden change in expression after she said, 'You're my best friend' was truly heartbreaking.

I really like Clary's hair even though it's not the red I wanted at first, it's really pretty and bright. It's so wavy too and nice to look at.

CONS/ MY ISSUES (SPOILER):

• There was something weird with Raphael's make up as a vampire at some point of the episode. The first scenes were alright but the next ones were kind of scary and looked wrong. 
• The graphics when a vampire was killed or burned because of sunlight was also weird. 
• Kaitlyn Neeb as Camille Belcourt: I find Kaitlyn Neeb pretty but I really imagined Camille as a blonde, british woman. 
• There were many steamy scenes. There wasn't anything wrong with it but I really didn't feel the need for it. 
• I don't get why Camille can stop Simon from moving. I get that vampires can enchant others and such but why can they stop someone from moving? Shouldn't warlocks be the ones able to do that?
