SYNOPSIS: The continuation of Apollo's quest to defeat the triumvirate.

REVIEW: 

I enjoyed reading this book, however, it did not have as much impact on my emotions as the third book did. The third book broke my heart so much. Still, it was such an easy read (I managed to finish it in less than a day). Rick Riordan managed to deliver an entertaining story packed with adventures and funny lines. Although, the story panned out simpler than what you would expect. I felt that the quests were finished a little too fast, which felt like it was rushed. Some of the non-important scenes felt like fillers. It felt more of a setup for the final book. Also, I did not care for the main villain that much. 

We see more of Apollo's past here. I love how Rick Riordan managed to weave Apollo's mythological stories with what happens in the book. A new character was introduced in the book. She was fun to read about, but I have not grown attached to her yet. Still, I loved seeing Apollo and Meg again. They became more adorable. You were able to see how much Apollo had changed from his past self. Also, we saw the demigods from Camp Jupiter! I loved seeing Frank so much.

I can't wait for the final book of this series!

• Meg and Apollo took Jason's body back to Camp Jupiter. They were attacked by ghouls on the way there, but Lavinia and Hazel helped them. Apollo got injured because of the ghouls. The injury would result in him turning into a zombie-like creature. They arrived at Camp Jupiter, and Apollo sang a song about what happened to Jason. The whole camp prepared for his funeral.
• Frank and Apollo went to Ella and Tyson to find out what Ella had discovered about the Sibylline Books. Frank informed Apollo on the way what happened the last time the emperor's attacked Camp Jupiter. Ella informed Apollo that they had to go find the tomb of a tyrant who Apollo believed was Tarquin.
• During Jason's funeral, Lupa arrived to inform Apollo where to go and to give him her blessing. The Senate voted for Hazel, Meg, Lavinia, and Apollo to go find Tarquin's tomb. The camp prepared for a war against the emperors of Rome.
• Lavinia, Meg, Apollo, and Hazel went to Tarquin's tomb. They overhead the ghouls and Tarquin talking about the silent one. They were caught by Tarquin, but Hazel managed to use her powers to collapse the ceiling on top of Tarquin and the other ghouls. Meg used her plants to help them escape. They discovered that Apollo's injury did not heal, and was only getting worse.
• Ella and Tyson found out some lines from the Sibylline Book. It was a ritual on how to summon a god or goddess to help them in the war. However, they discovered the ritual requires the death of a god. 
• Apollo figured out that maybe the reason why the demigods cannot communicate was because of the soundless god. Frank pointed out that Apollo, Meg, and Reyna needed to find out where the soundless god is. Frank will hold down the camp while they are away.
• Apollo trained some of the campers archery while waiting for the time to leave. Lavinia dragged him out of the camp. She made him tell the nature spirits and fauns about what happened in Los Angeles to motivate them to help in the war. 
• Apollo, Reyna, and Meg left the camp. Reyna asked Apollo about why he looked at her like that. Apollo told her that Venus had warned him to stay away from her when he was a god. Now that he is human, he thought that maybe he was the answer to Reyna's curse. Reyna just laughed at him. They found out that a trap involving crows was set up for them. The crows hate Apollo for creating them because of Koronis. Meg and Reyna were disgusted when they found out who Koronis was and what Apollo did to her. They made him sing a song that would repulse the crows to make them go away.
• They arrived at the container where the soundless god was. Apollo figured out who the soundless god was, but he cannot remember the god's name. He asked for help from the arrow of Dodona, which guided him towards the god's name. The god in the container is named, Harpocrates, a Ptolemaic god who Apollo bullied back when he was a god.
• Reyna used her power of empowerment on Apollo, which temporarily helped him gain some of his godly strength. The strength Apollo gained was enough to open the container. They discovered that Harpocrates was connected to the radio towers, and that's how the emperors were using his powers to prevent demigods from communicating. 
• Harpocrates telepathically sent hateful messages to Apollo and the others. Meg tried to calm him down by sending him images from her childhood. How miserable she was because of the emperors. Reyna tried to calm him down by sending him thoughts about Rome's destruction because of the war. Apollo sent him his embarrassing moments as Lester to show that he had changed. It temporarily wavered Harpocrates. They were able to convince Harpocrates to calm down enough for them to free him by telling him that destroying the fasces would hurt the emperors who owned them. Harpocrates showed Apollo that he was holding the Sibyl of Cumae, another person who hated him. Still, he chose to free Harpocrates.
• Harpocrates showed Apollo how he and Sibyl were thrown together to trap Apollo. They fell for each other during their capture. Harpocrates got mad at Apollo for being shocked at their love. Reyna and Meg were able to calm him down by showing him memories, which showed that Apollo had changed. Sibyl stopped them. She knew that Harpocrates had to die based on the prophecy. They were finally going to rest. She forgave Apollo before she passed on. Harpocrates followed her soon after.
• Reyna, Apollo, and Meg traveled back to the camp. They were attacked by ghouls again. Lavinia and the others managed to save them, but Reyna broke her leg. The dryads hid her while Apollo and Meg went back to camp.
• Meg and Apollo arrived at camp. They told Frank and Hazel briefly about what happened while they were away. Hazel took them to Ella and Tyson to prepare for the ritual. Apollo decided to summon Diana, but after doing the ritual, nothing happened. Apollo told Ella and Tyson to wait for a while, and then, they told him to join the fight.
• Frank, Apollo, and the emperors agreed on a spolia opima. Frank faced Caligula, while Apollo faced Commodus. Apollo managed to stab Commodus in the knee. They managed to trap the emperors in the tunnel. Frank used his firewood to start a fire, and an explosion using Greek Fire. He managed to kill Caligula, but Commodus survived. Apollo finished him by sending him a guttural roar, but not before he commanded Gregorix to signal the yachts. The yachts managed to fire the fireballs at a ninety-degree angle, so it destroyed every yacht. The enemy thought that Apollo did that. They scattered when Apollo shouted 'Boo!' at them. 
• Apollo went to New Rome to help fight Tarquin. He informed Hazel and Meg about what happened to Frank. Hazel looked for Tarquin so that she could kill someone. Tarquin went to the library to find the Sibylline Books. Apollo told Tarquin where to find the Sibylline books because of his connection to him (as a zombie). Tarquin told them that the current army is just a distraction, and then, he tried to call the second wave, but no one came. Hazel fought Tarquin, while Meg found the ghouls. The arrow of Dodona told Apollo to hang-on and not give in to the poison.
• Diana arrived just in time to finish Tarquin. She also healed Apollo. Lavinia managed to destroy the Triumvirate's fleet along with the nature spirits and the fauns. She also managed to get the shoes of Terpsichore, her mother, from Caligula's private collection. Lavinia managed to get out of getting punished for abandoning her post through Reyna. Diana managed to finish the second wave of undead brought by Tarquin. Arion arrived with an alive Frank on his back.
• Frank informed them that he did what he did because of a prophecy line that Ella told him. Only the most precious firewood could kill the emperors on the bridge. They attended to the wounded and prepared the funeral for the dead - Jacob, Dakota, Don, and others. Don was reincarnated as a laurel tree. 
• Reyna informed the camp that she was resigning as a praetor. She joined the hunters of Artemis. Hazel was promoted as the praetor, and Lavinia became the centurion of the Fifth Cohort. Meg and Apollo left for New York after getting a prophecy from Ella and Tyson.

• REASONS WHY I GOT TEARS IN MY EYES:
• Jason's funeral.
• Frank burning up.
• Don the Faun's death.
• Meg's worrying about Apollo.
• Harpocrates and Sibyl's fate.
• Dakota's death.
• REASONS WHY I DID NOT ENJOY THIS AS MUCH:
• The conflicts were resolved a little too easy for me. I get that they only had a limited number of days, but it felt shorter. Like all of the events have occurred in one single day.
• I did not care much about Tarquin. For me, he was the villain that had the weakest impact on the books. I only know things about him from the book, and it was too general, so I don't know how much to hate him. With Nero and Caligula, you know how much evil they did, especially to Meg and Jason. With  Commodus, the effect was more on because Apollo loved him, and it was heartbreaking to see Apollo overcome his feelings for him.
• The first few chapters were so heartbreaking. Rick Riordan immediately attacked the readers of the fact that Jason died a brutal death. It was heartbreaking to read Apollo's dedication to deliver his remains to the camp and give him a proper funeral. It was more heartbreaking because Thalia did not receive the message about his death immediately and was not able to attend his funeral.
• I honestly do not feel much about the Reyna-Apollo thing. I don't know if it's because I do not remember much about Reyna's curse or if it's because I just don't see them together. Although, I'm glad that Apollo helped Reyna realize that she doesn't need anyone to free her from a curse. She just needs to accept it and be herself. 
• I'm happy that Apollo picked Diana to help them save the camp. I loved seeing how much they missed each other. Diana cared so much for him, and her reaction to him telling her that he loves her was adorable. I also loved that Thalia told Apollo how much Diana worries about him that it splits her personality into two.
• I don't agree with Reyna joining the hunters. I get that she's probably tired of being the praetor, but I did not imagine her leaving Camp Jupiter. It seemed like it's not in her character to leave them, especially since they are at war.
• Frank was still an amazing character. I love how he rocked it as a praetor. He seemed chill but held respect. I love how he turned into a hippo to save the camp during the first attack. It broke my heart when I thought that he had died. I desperately searched the Internet for clues to confirm whether he was dead or alive. I kind of spoiled myself on that, but I couldn't handle losing Frank. I'm glad though that by sacrificing his firewood, he took control of his own life. 
• Ella and Tyson felt a little bit weirder in this book. Ella is much more stressed, and her priority is more on finding out about the prophecy, and it felt like she doesn't care much about Tyson because of the prophecies. Still, I found Tyson more adorable than ever. I missed him so much. 
• It seemed stupid to me that Tarquin did not know much about cats. Like, were you living under a rock dude?
• Lavinia was such a fun character, but I did not see more of her other personalities. She was more of a rebel who did the right thing. She was a fun addition to the group, but I still am not that attached to her. Still, I'm proud of her for helping save the camp, and for getting promoted as a centurion.
• It was fun seeing Hazel again. She was still as powerful as ever, but she made me miss Nico so much. I'm glad that she was promoted as the new praetor. She deserved it.
• I'm glad that we finally find out why demigods cannot communicate with each other. I hope that with the silent god free, they can easily call for each other to help them in the fight.
• Harpocrates and Sibyl's story was heartbreaking. They were both hurt by Apollo, but I'm happy that they saw that Apollo has been trying to change from his selfish ways to redeem for the things that he has done. I'm glad that they found each other in the world that was terrible towards them. They died knowing that they formed a connection with another being and that somebody cared.
• It was terrible to read about what Apollo did in the past. He was so selfish there, and I'm glad that we get to see him develop and try to redeem the wrong things he did while he was a god. His character development was great.
• I loved seeing more of Apollo and Meg's sibling relationship. They fight and argue, but at the end of the day, they truly cared about one another. It broke my heart to see Meg breakdown because of how much she blamed herself for getting Apollo injured. I thought that she just wanted to kill Tarquin back in the tomb, but knowing it was because she hoped that by killing him, it would save Apollo, made my heart ache so much.
• I'm glad that Apollo finally had the strength to kill Commodus. Good riddance.
• It was fun that Lavinia managed to get her mother's shoes from Caligula's boat.
• The part where the yacht's cannons fired at a 90-degree angle was so funny because you know that the yachts would simultaneously explode afterward.
• I'm glad that the nature spirits joined the fight to save San Francisco. Lavinia was such an inspiring leader, and the nature spirits were so powerful and helpful.
• Don's death broke my heart. He was such a minor character in this book, but he was so fun to read about. His death was devastating because he sacrificed himself to help defeat the triumvirate. I'm glad that he turned into a laurel tree after his death.
• It broke my heart to read about Dakota's death. Why is there always a child of Dionysus / Bacchus dying in these books? Dakota did not appear much in the series, but I'll always remember him as the kool-aid kid. I cannot forget how much Dionysus's heart broke when Castor died in the Percy Jackson series, and I imagine that Bacchus's heart broke because of Dakota's death as well.
• I'm excited about the next book, especially since Meg and Apollo are en-route towards New York. We might get to see Percy and the others again! I miss Percy so much. We only got to see him in one book. I want more!

"It's not really talking," Meg said. "But yeah. Even the trees don't like this place. They're trying to grow away from that carousel as fast as they can."
"Which, since they're trees," I said, "is not very fast."

"How do we get in?"
I hoped the answer would be Gosh darn it, we can't.

"The thought made me shudder. My gut wound felt so much better at the moment. I could walk without cringing. The sun was shining. I'd eaten a good meal. How could I still be poisoned?"
Denial is a powerful thing.

"How is your wound?"
"My would is thriving," I said. "Me, not so much."

OH BOY, A SPECIAL job!
The anticipation was killing me. Or maybe that was the poison in my veins.

"You jumped into the throne room because... you wanted to save me?"
"Duh," she muttered without any heat.

"Oh, Meg" I shook my head. "That was a crazy, senseless student, and I love you for it. But don't beat yourself up."

Mars might grant us success on the battlefield, but he'd look at my wound and say something like Yeah, rough break. Die bravely.

"No matter what happened over the next twenty-four hours, I would not add to Meg's worries. I would tought it out until the moment I keeled over."
Wow. Who even was I.

"Keep it together, legionnaire," Hazel said. "This is what we signed up for. Defending the legacy of Rome."
"From its own emperors," Thomas said miserably.
"I'm sorry to tell you," I put in, "but the biggest threat to the empire was often its own emperors."
Nobody argued.

"How come you made her laugh?"
"That wasn't my intention. Besides, it isn't illegal to make someone laugh."
"You asked her to be your girlfriend, didn't you?"
"I-What? No. Sort of. Yes."
"That was stupid."

"Well, I'm glad we had this talk, so I could unburden myself of all the things you already knew. I was also going to say that you're important to me and I might even love you like a sister, but - "
"I already know that, too."

Reyna said, "All I smell is Lester's shoes. I think he stepped in something."
"A large puddle of shame," I muttered.

"It's fun up here," Meg decided. She did a cartwheel because she enjoyed giving me heart palpitations.

"If we let the bird eat you," Meg asked, "will they leave Reyna and me alone?"

"After that story about Koronis?" Reyna said.

"You did,' Meg agreed.
I sighed. "You two are horrible influences on each other."
Without taking their eyes off me, Reyna and Meg gave each other a silent high five.

I drew the arrow from my quiver. "O prophetic missile, I need your guidance!"
There was no answer.
I wondered if the arrow had been lulled to sleep by the magic surrounding the storage container. Then I realized there was a simpler explanation. I returned the arrow to my quiver and pulled out a different one.
"You chose the wrong arrow, didn't you?" Meg guessed.

A voice and a shh.
I have seen stranger couples.
Wait. No, I haven't.

"I forgive you. Not because you deserve it. Not for your sake at all. But because I will not go into oblivion carrying hate when I can carry love."

"That's kind of the point. You do something evil, you feel bad about it, you do better. That's a sign you might be developing a conscience."

"Have you completely made up for all the bad things you've done? No. But you keep adding to the 'good things' column. That's all any of us can do."

"We're going to make it," I said, like a fool.
Once again, I had broken the First Law of Percy Jackson: Never say something is going to work out, because as soon as you do, it won't.
KALUMP.

I hoped the real firefighters were okay because firefighters are important and also because they are hot, and no, that wasn't relevant right then.

Whenever an enemy got too close, Jacob would zap them like the Oprah Winfrey version of Jupiter: And YOU get a lightning bolt! And YOU get a lightning bolt.

I told them all in brief what happened, with Meg occasionally adding helpful comments like, "He was stupid," and "He was more stupid," and "He did good; then he got stupid again."

"Terminus, can you open our defensive barriers here at the main gate?"
"Why would I do that?"
"We'll try the Wakanda thing."

"I was not surprised Tyson had dubbed Arioin "Zoom Pony", or that he seemed happier to see the horse than me."

"If Jupiter expected me to crawl to him for help, begging for mercy, he could stick his lightning bolt right up his cloaca maxima."

Tyson kept dancing to his own internal music, flinging out his arms and spinning like a three-hundred-pound, heavily tattooed Julie Andrews in the Sound of Music remake Quentin Tarantino always wanted to do. (I convinced him it was a bad idea. You can thank me later.)

The only smell I detected was a hint of peanut butter. Why? I did not want to know.

I'll take Apollo. I don't need my eyesight to find him. I'll just follow my ears. He'll be the one whimpering.
I hated that he knew me so well.

"If I'm going to burn," he said. "I might as well burn bright. This is for Jason."

IF YOU EVER GET the chance to see weaponized unicorns in action, don't. It's something you can't un-see.

"I see. Well. I've concentrated the last bits of my power here, around Julia. They may destroy New Rome, but they will not harm this girl!"
"Or this statue!" said Julia.

"Where can we find Tarquin?" she demanded.
What she meant was: Who can I kill to make myself feel better.

The Five Unicorns of Apocalypse happily bucked, then galloped off to do Meg's bidding.

"Foul undead thing," she said, her voice hard and bright with power.
"When a good woman puts you down, you had best stay down."

"H-how long was I out?" I croaked.
"Roughly three seconds," she asked. "Now, get up, drama queen."

I beamed at my sister. It was so good to see her disapproving I-can't-believe-you're-my-brother frown again. "I love you," I said, my voice hoarse with emotion.
She blinked, clearly unsure what to do with this information. "You really have changed."
"I missed you!"

"Well, Lavinia Asimov, if you want to stay on board, you'd have to become a Hunter."
"Nope!" Lavinia hopped off as if the chariot's floorboards had become lava. "No offense, my lady, but I like girls too much to take that vow. Like... like them. Not just like them. Like - "
"I understand." Diana sighed. "Romantic love. It's a plague."

Never had there been such a bittersweet reunion between a girl and her deciduous fruit spirit. There were tears and laughter, hugs and scratches, and cries of "Peaches!" in every tone from scolding to apologetic jubilant.

Terminus had made it through the battle, though he was weak and shaken. His first announcement was that he was formally adopting little Julia. The girl seemed delighted, though I wasn't sure how Roman law would work out adoption-by-statue.

"The goddess has been beside herself," she said. "I mean that literally. Sometimes she gets so worried she splits into two forms, Roman and Greek right in front of me. She'll probably get mad at me for telling you this, but she loves you more than anyone else in the world."

BEWARE OF SPOILERS! (Don't read all of the bullets)

1. Mob Psycho 100 II (7.8/10)

• It was still a pretty interesting and enjoyable anime to watch, but I enjoyed the first season more. This one had a more serious tone, and the humor is not as funny. I liked that Mob had more character development and we saw his relationship with his friends develop, but I felt that Reigen's character had regressed.
• I think that Reigen crossed a line with Mob. He bullied Mob a lot in this season, and I thought it was uncalled for. I'm glad that he came around in the middle of the season, but what he did, in the beginning, was inexcusable.
• It was sad that no one believed that Mob got a girlfriend. Why wouldn't he? He was adorable. The part where he repaired the Emi's paper was touching. It was sad though that she only tricked him to be her boyfriend because of a bet.
• It was funny that Mob wasn't affected by the ghost created from imagination and people's fear because he didn't keep up with current issues. They were all shocked.
• The student who tried to rob Mob was such an unlucky person. It was funny that the members from Mob's Body Improvement Club came to his rescue along with his brother. He could have handled that himself if he only believed more in himself.
• It was cute seeing Mob's parents and their support for him in the race. It was funny though that they were so shocked when he reached that far. They didn't believe he could do it, but they were proud of him nonetheless.
• I truly thought that Mob's parents were killed. It was a scene I did not see coming. I'm glad that Sho saved them, but they could have warned Mob about what was happening. I felt devastated for Mob on that part. I'm glad that Dimple convinced Mob that they were alive. Else, just imagine what Mob's rage would do.
• It was interesting seeing the members of Claw from the first season trying to help Mob defeat the Claw organization, and that Reigen is the one they listened to.
• The Body Improvement Club members were precious. They truly cared for Mob and seeing them protect Mob was such a touching scene. I'm glad that Dimple helped Goda awaken so that he could protect Mob longer. 
• I felt scared for Reigen going up against Claw's boss. I'm glad that he wasn't seriously hurt. Mob's rage at him almost getting hurt was alarming. 
• Toichiro's powers were such a cheat. He was so powerful, but I did not get his intentions at all. He just wanted world domination, but he had no one he cared about. No deep reasoning behind the things he did, so I did not care for him at all.
• The giant Brocolli, in the end, was funny. It got better when Mob revealed why it occurred.

2. That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (8.25/10)

• Satoru's death was devastating. He just wanted to protect someone. He deserved the reincarnation he had because of how compassionate he is.
• I truly enjoyed watching this anime. It had such a light tone, and it was not stressful to watch. Nothing important happened throughout this season, but it was great seeing Rimuru build his empire. It was fun to see him create relationships with others. He saved many creatures in that world and gave them home. There were one or two boring episodes, but most of them were quite enjoyable. I'm looking forward to the next season.
• I like the animation of this anime. Most of the characters were either cute or beautiful. The animation of the fights was impressive.
• I'm excited to see what the future will hold. Many plots were set up in the first season, and I'm interested to see how they would unfold in the future seasons. I want more interactions with the Demon Lords, and I want to see Rimuru interact with Black. He was such an interesting character to get a glimpse off.
• I loved Rimuru as a character. He was fun, admirable, and compassionate. He helped everyone who asked for his help. He was quick to think of ways to avoid conflict. He was such a great leader. He was adorable as a slime, and he was so powerful.  
• Veldora was such a stressful dragon. I don't know what to feel about him. Sometimes I cringed because of his tsundere characteristics. I'm glad that Rimuru became his friend and helped him. Also, I'd like to know more about his past. 
• I find the story of Shizue quite interesting. I wonder how it would play out in the future. I'm glad that Rimuru was able to give her the rest that she wanted. It was heartbreaking, but it needed to be done. 
• I love the Ogre/Kirin Squad. They were such amazing characters, and I'm glad that they sided with Rimuru. I love seeing them fight. They were such powerful characters.
• It was funny seeing Shion and Shuna fight over Rimuru.
• I loved the scene where Shion tried to feed Rimuru something. He asked the Great Sage for help because it didn't look edible, and the Great Sage's solution was to feed it to Gobta. 
• It was funny how resilient Gobta was. He was like slime in his way. I'm glad that he became one of the toughest members of Tempest. The best part was that he developed Poison Resistance because of Shion's cooking. Also, they used Shion's cooking as a punishment if he didn't perform well in a fight.
• Gabiru was such a stupid character. Sure, he was admirable for trying to protect his friends, but it was his fault in the first place. He was so thick-headed. I'm glad that Gobta beat him up. It was funny to see the Kijin trying to ask Rimuru for permission to kill him, and Rimuru trying hard not to let them to. 
• Milim was such a great ally to have. She was powerful and easy to control. It's funny that her weakness is food.

3. Handa-Kun (5/10)

• I enjoyed watching Barakamon a lot, so this spin-off was such a disappointment to me. There were many moments that I wanted to slap some of the characters because of how foolish they were acting. I also wanted to slap myself because I decided to finish it. There were good moments, but the annoying moments were greater. There were no character developments only random moments that showed Handa. 
• Most of the characters here were annoying. They often misread situations and thought of something stupid that is related to Handa. Sure, it worked for Handa's reputation but it was so silly that it made want to bang my head on the wall. 
• The only relationship I enjoyed was Handa and Kawafuji. You can see that their bond is really special, but I kind of hated Kawafuji on the fact that he did not tell Handa the truth about his reputation. It made Handa not enjoy his school life because he thought everyone disliked him, when in fact, it was the opposite. Handa was such a precious person, and I wished that he saw that rather than relying on what others thought of him.
• I find it quite funny that Akane Tsutsui looked like a girl before his transmission into looking like a school bully. It was particularly funny since they decided to use him as Juliet because of how he looked before.
• Handa's mother was too adorable to watch. It was funny that his classmates thought she was his girlfriend because of how young she looked. 
• The episode where Handa got amnesia was too funny. Everyone wanted to hit his head again just so he could go back to being normal. They could not handle the self-confident Handa.
• I loved Handa's role in his class' play. It was too funny that they had him dress up as a queen and put a wig on him.
• I loved the part where a palm reader predicted that Handa would have many children in the future. She thought that it would be his biological children and could not handle the amount. Getting a reference to Barakamon was funny.

4. Persona 5: The Animation (6/10)

• I honestly did not enjoy this anime at all. I cared about none of the characters, to be honest. They were not interesting at all. I did not see much of their backstories and little character development. I enjoyed the previous Persona plots, but I thought this one was too evil. Why would you send high schoolers to such dangerous missions? Why would they risk their lives? Still, the animation and the fight scenes were impressive. 
• I thought the new Personas were impressive. I'd like to play them, but PS4 is not a cheap console to buy, so I just decided to watch the anime. It was also lovely to see some of the old Personas. 
• The cat character kind of annoyed me. I miss Teddie from Persona 4.
• I thought the villains in this did not deserve to be redeemed. They did such vicious things such as abuse and borderline homicide. 
• I did not like that they left the ending to be open-ended. The reasoning for all the things was not explained properly. I honestly don't know if I'm going to watch the OVAs because of how this went.
• I felt devastated that the original voice actor for Igor died. RIP Isamu Tanonaka.

| MIDYEAR K-DRAMA ADVENTURE |

BEWARE OF SPOILERS! (Don't read all of the bullets)

1. What's Wrong With Secretary Kim (9/10)
• I started watching this last year, but I wasn't able to finish it because I got busy. Amazingly, I still remember most of the details that happened which is shocking because I've been too busy.
• I enjoyed watching this K-Drama a lot. Most people told me that this doesn't have much plot, but I'd like to disagree. The traumatic past between the two lead characters is enough for me to be intrigued as to how it will affect the story. I liked the twists and turns that happened. Also, I liked the fact that issues that were usually used by other K-Drama did not become a problem here (EX: Mi-so's not as rich, and she's just a secretary). 
• I loved watching the relationship between Young-Joon and Mi-So develop. They were too adorable together. 
• Some of the things that Young-Joon does are cringy, but Park Seo-Joon made it work.
• I like Young-Joon a lot because you can see that he truly cared for Mi-So. He helped her grow into the secretary that she became. He kept their history a secret even if it cost him his happiness because he did not want her to remember the terrible things that they have been through. He was willing to support her resigning her job after he realized that she never had a chance to do something for herself. I'm happy that she stayed as his secretary though because she was flawless in her job. Also, his determination to prove himself to her family was admirable. 
• This is the first role of Park Min-Young that I liked. I usually got annoyed at her characters, but this one worked for me. She was so pretty here and her outfits are so beautiful. She was flawless in her job.
• I love the relationship between Young-Joon and Yoo-sik. They are too hilarious together, and they supported each other a lot. It's especially funny that it's Kang Ki-Young who played Yoo-Sik. I love that guy. I love the scenes where they kept arriving at each other's intimate moment, and they do not know how to react. 
• I love seeing Mi-So's memory of her parents especially since her parents were played by Lee Min Ki, and Jung So-Min. I love those two.
• I loved Mi-so's father. He was a good guy, but mischievous. I love his support for his daughter, and he truly cared for her, and he just wanted her to be happy. Same goes for her sisters. 
• I love the relationship between Yoo-Sik and his secretary. It's too funny especially since sometimes you'll wonder if she's really under Yoo-Sik. She did many foolish things but things worked out for the best between Yoo-Sik and his wife because of it.
• I felt bad for Mi-So whenever she sees a spider. You could feel her fear and it was more terrible for her since she does not specifically know why she is afraid of spiders. The same goes for Young-Joon and cable ties.
• I cannot handle the feelings it gave me when Young-Joon admitted he never forgot about the incident. His sacrifice for his brother was admirable, but I felt bad for his brother because they never told him the truth. They let him believe in a lie that ruined his mental health. I'm glad that the brothers worked it out when everything was out in the open. 
• The traumatic past creeped me out a lot. The woman was so terrifying in her role as the deranged mother. 
• I loved the scene where Mi-So got jealous of Young-Joon's childhood friend and tried to say more sweet things to him. It was too adorable.
• I loved that Mi-So's teammates were willing to defend her against other employees when they were badmouthing her for dating Young-Joon. I was glad that it did not become a hindrance to their romance. Mi-So was strong enough to not let it get to her.
• I loved the scene where Se-Ra, Ji-a, and Mi-So got drank and kept harassing Young-Joon when he came to fetch Mi-So. It was too funny especially their reactions after they realized what they had done in the morning.
• I loved the ending so much. I enjoy seeing weddings in K-Drama, and this one probably topped it. Young-Joon's proposal to Mi-So was very touching, and you can truly feel the effort he did for her.
• I loved all of the side romances in this K-Drama. The development of Ji-a and Gwi-Nam's relationship was subtle and adorable. I'm glad that Gwi-Nam finally saw how he could happy and it was with Ji-a. Also, Se-Ra and Cheol's relationship was too cute. I was kind of mad at Se-Ra when she was trying to hide it, but when she almost lost him, she realized what's more important to her. It's funny that their co-workers admitted they knew about their relationship even before she admitted it. 
• I truly thought that Young-Joon's parents would create another conflict because of his brother. I'm glad that Sung-Yeon was able to clear up the issue and that Young-Joon and Mi-So got their happy ending.
2. W: Two Worlds Apart (6/10)
• I did not have much expectation about this K-Drama because most of the people I've asked who has watched this warned me that the ending is not that okay. In the beginning, it gave me the 'Fushigi Yugi' vibe so I quite enjoyed it, but after a while, everything seemed messed up. The plot and the events that transpired was alright. However, there were too many twists and turns. Sometimes there were too much, and it stressed me out a lot. It made the K-Drama more unrealistic than what it should be.
• I honestly don't understand Yeon-Joo's life decisions. I felt that she was too addicted to Kang-Chul that she was willing to sacrifice her father for him. The trauma she undergoes throughout the whole series should have been enough for her to stop her relationship with Kang Chul. Sure, they were adorable together, but it was not enough to convince me that they should have ended up together. He shot at her, and he shot her father. What more could he do to make her leave him alone? I also felt weird about the fact that the Kang Chul she ended up with was the one with no memory of her. He didn't even know she existed because she made him forget. He just continued the relationship they had based on her memory.  
• I didn't care much for the characters at all. Most of the things that happened to them just shocked me, but it wasn't enough to break my heart or anything like that.
• I honestly don't understand how they were able to revive Yeon-Joo. I'm glad that she survived but how?
• Lee Jong Suk was the only reason I finished this K-Drama. He was too adorable and handsome.
3. Absolute Boyfriend (7.8/10)
• I enjoyed watching this K-Drama. It gave me the same feelings as the manga did, and honestly, I think it was better than the manga in some parts. The character of the second lead was much better here because he and the lead character had a deeper history. Also, the meeting between the two lead characters was more coincidental. The interactions between the characters and the development of their relationships were quite fun to watch. Somewhere in the middle, it turned into an emotional rollercoaster because of the events that transpired. I think that they could have lessened the episodes because nothing much happened in some of them. Be ready to spend twenty hours on the twenty episodes it has if you want to watch it.
• I don't know what to feel about the ending. The ending in the manga broke me, but this one not so much. I don't know if it's because I wasn't that invested in Young-Goo and Da-da's relationship since I know what happens. I did not see the open-ended ending that the creator went for coming. 
• Diana was such a bitch character. I wanted to cut her head off in most of the scenes she was in. She did not deserve to get a redemption arc. If she wanted to redeem herself, she could have made Kronos Heaven create another heart reactor. 
• I loved Wang-Joon even though he was problematic in the beginning. I hated that he told the paparazzi that Da-da was a stalker, but in his twisted way, he just wanted to protect her. I'm still mad at him for not telling her about the stalker issue, but the things he did for her throughout the series redeemed himself to me. He was willing to admit he was wrong and protect Da-da even though she did not choose him. I felt sorry for him whenever the fact that Da-da would never return to him was rubbed-in. Also, he was willing to use his name to force Kronos Heaven to give him the heart reactor so Da-da would not cry anymore. Plus, I loved the bond between Wang-Joon and Woong. They were too adorable together. I love their support for each other.
• How did that stupid A+ Beef sticker survive the whole K-Drama?
• I cringed so many times because of Young-Goo. I did not like him at all in the beginning because he did so many foolish things, but I've grown to care for him because he genuinely cared for Da-da. The scenes where he dressed up in many ridiculous things was quite funny.
• I honestly liked Bang Min-ah as Da-da. Her acting was quite good. It was fun seeing her different facial expressions especially when she was annoyed. Although, I did not feel much of her sadness.
• I shipped Bo-Won and Woong a lot. I did not see that he would pick her over Kyu-Ri, but I'm glad that he did. She was so supportive and protective of him, and I'm pleased that he noticed it. They were too adorable together. The fact that they got married in the end, and it was hinted that she was pregnant was something that made me happy.
• Bo-Won's care and love for Young-Goo were too precious. It broke his heart to follow what Young-Goo wanted because all that he wanted was for Young-Goo to be happy, but it cost him his life. I'm glad that he dared to take Young-Goo from Kronos Heaven so that would not end up in Diana's hands.
• It made me so mad when the person who was blackmailing Wang-Joon was revealed. Wang-Joon trusted Eun-Dong so much only to be betrayed because of his greed. It served him right that he lost Wang-Joon.
• I loved the scene where Young-Goo and Da-da stayed at the park where they were working and had their date. It was such a fun time especially since Young-Goo was able to start most of the rides because of his robotic abilities.
• The saddest part about this version was how rushed the relationship between Young-Goo and Da-da was. If I remember correctly, in the manga, they were at least able to spend a year together. Here, they were just able to stay for some months.
• The plot where Diana made another robot that looked like Wang-Joon seemed irrelevant. They could have just removed that subplot along with Diana. She just served as someone that could add more episodes.
• I hated In-Hyuk. He was such a stupid character. He did not do anything remotely helpful to the story. He did not deserve a redemption arc. He knew that Diana would only do terrible things to the heart reactor, but he still gave it to her.
• I liked Yoo-Jin. He was so adorable, and I'm glad that he was able to join Bo-Won in his robotics business.
• Kyu-ri annoyed me on some parts. I like that she cares for Da-da, but sometimes she crossed lines. She pushed Da-da for Wang-Joon even though she was with Young-Goo and she kept imagining that some of the other characters like her. 
• I liked the part where Young-Goo became Wang-Joon's manager. It was funny to see that Wang-Joon could not complain because Young-Goo was able to bring a famous chef to cook for him. It was too adorable. They were able to establish a bond that was enjoyable to watch.
• My heart could not handle the scene where Young-Goo's memory returned to him even after being kissed by Diana because Da-da came for him. They finally got together.
• I like the support that Da-da got from her friends. Even though some were against it at first, they were just thinking of Da-da's happiness. They knew that things could not last and just wanted to protect her from the pain.

| APRIL & MAY K-DRAMA ADVENTURE |

BEWARE OF SOME SPOILERS!

1. Touch Your Heart (6/10)
• I enjoyed the first few episodes of this K-Drama. It was fun. Seeing Lee Dong-Wook and Yoo In-Na together again made me happy. The happiness did not last because of the plot or lack thereof. Their adorableness was not enough to sustain the whole K-Drama.
• This should have never reached episode sixteen. It could have ended by episode twelve because they showed the "villain" there and captured him back easily.  Nothing much happened after episode twelve. 
• I hated the ending. They followed the typical the lead characters have to break up for some random reason just for them to be separated for a while format. In their case, it is kind of understandable but it still annoyed the hell out of me. 
• I enjoyed the first few cases that Jung-Rok and Yoon-Seo worked on. The one with the guy stalking a girl creeped me out a lot especially the scene where it was shown that he was hiding under the girl's bed.
• I did not like any of the side romances here. Some were fun characters, but they lacked chemistry. I did not enjoy seeing them at all.
• I like the friendship between Jung-Rok and Se-Won. They were fun together. I also enjoyed seeing Jung-Rok and Joon-Kyu's friendship.
2. My Girl (8.5/10)
• I enjoyed watching this K-Drama. It was fun, especially in the beginning. Things took a turn for the worse somewhere in the middle. The plot was very intriguing but at the same time, it was very heartbreaking. I was like, 'Can't they just be happy?'.
• The ending was okay because everything worked out for the best, but I wish that Gong-chan and Yoo-rin were given more scenes together to show their relationship without anyone or anything hindering it.
• I enjoyed watching the side romances between Yoo-rin's friend and Gong-chan's secretary and In-sun and Il-do. The development of their relationship was very entertaining to watch. The baby at the end was also too cute.
• The tangerine episode is still the best. It made me laugh a lot (though it stressed me a lot too). 
• I get very stressed out whenever Gong-chan or Yoo-rin imagines a weird scenario. It was funny but also very ridiculous.
• I loved Lee Dong-Wok's acting here. This is the first time I saw him in a character that had too many emotions - sadness, happiness, anger, etc. Most of the characters I saw hin play before were too serious. I love seeing his different facial expressions. It was too adorable. It made me appreciate him more.
• Yoo-Rin did so many mischievous things. I was not sure what to feel. It was very funny but also very stressful because you don't know if she'll get in trouble for the things she's doing. 
• Lee Joon-Gi's dedication to Yoo-Rin was both admirable and stupid. I liked that he always stayed by her side, but everyone can see that she will never pick him. Still, I liked their friendship.
• I felt really bad for Gong-chan's grandfather. Sure, they lied to him to lessen his burden but it was hard for him when he found out the truth. He truly did love Yoo-rin and finding out their deceit was not easy for him. You can tell that he didn't want to lose his love for Yoo-rin but at the same time, he was really angry.
• Yoo-rin's father makes me mad a lot. He left her alone and she got chased by the loan sharks. Sure, he came back, but he still sucked as a father. The only thing he did that was right was saving Ha-na.
• Se-hyun was such an irritating character. She did so many shitty things to the lead characters just because she couldn't get what she wants. It was her fault for leaving Gong-chan, but she couldn't get over the fact that he fell for someone else. I hated that she ruined their relationship many times.
3. Signal (9.5/10)
• I loved watching this K-Drama. I'm not usually fond of K-Drama's without much romance but this one I enjoyed a lot. The plot was very intriguing. It had too many twists and turns. You cannot predict what will happen next and even if you can, there is still something that will happen next that you will not see coming. Also, most of the things are heartbreaking to watch so prepare yourself. 
• I don't know the majority of the cast of this K-Drama, but I enjoyed their acting a lot. You'll feel their care for each other and their heartbreak when things didn't work out. 
• I still don't know what I feel about the ending. It certainly cleared up most of the holes but since it is kind of open-ended, you'll hope that there is a sequel.
• It was funny that most of Soo-Hyun's officemate supported her crush on Jae-Han. It was more fun because Jae-Han was too oblivious as to how she felt, but he supported her a lot.
• The cases that resulted in great changes was very entertaining to watch. You would not think that it would result in such drastic changes. My feelings cannot handle the connection between Jae-Han and Hae-Young.
• I cannot handle the change in the character of Jang Hyun-Sung in this K-Drama. I hated him a lot here. He was so convincing in his role as the villain that it pissed me off.
• The twist when Chi-Soo finally told him the truth pissed me off. Hae-Young finally found a clue and then lost it immediately. 
• I did not see the twist in the end coming. I believed that Jae-Han was alive, but I did not think to that extent. I am amazed that he also had the things they needed to finish the biggest case.
• The two things that broke my heart a lot was when the daughter of one of Jae-Han's friend died and when Soo-Hyun also died. I did not see those two coming.

| JULY BOOK ADVENTURE PART 1 |

I have finally finished reading the Ghosts of the Shadow Market by Cassandra Clare! 

WARNING: Some spoilers ahead!

1. The Lost World by Cassandra Clare (4/5)
• The story was not as amazing as the other ones. However, it was fascinating to see some of the events that occurred after the timeline of The Dark Artifice. 
• I liked seeing Ty and how he was adapting in the Scholomance but I did not connect with him and Livvy before so I was not excited to read about their point of view.  The reason I was able to enjoy this story was that Tessa and Jem were a part of it.
• I liked seeing that Livvy was able to spy at Idris even if she was only able to gather little information. I'm concerned with what the people there are planning. 
• I was truly scared of Livvy at some points because she was showing some side effects of being a ghost. Her connection with Ty was intriguing but I hated the fact that she almost took Baby Mina's life in exchange for hers.
2. Forever Fallen (4.5/5)
• I don't know what to feel about this story. I enjoyed reading about Jem's point of view. It was so fun and full of love. On the other hand, reading about Janus' point of view scared the hell out of me. He was such an intense guy and you don't know what he will do to get what he wants.
• I felt really bad for Janus because he suffered a terrible fate in his world. He had to see most of his loved ones die at the hands of the person who controlled him. I want him to be happy but not at the cost of Clary and all of the other people that are not from his world. It was not their fault that he had to endure so much pain.
• It broke my heart to see Janus looking at Alec. He was seeing what his Alec could have been if he hadn't died but I hate him for considering killing Max.
• It was scary to see Janus interacting with Clary. He was too close to her and she did not notice that it was not Jace. 
• I don't know what to feel between the Janus and Ash's bond. I'm glad that they have each other to rely on but their bond could ruin many lives. Also, I wonder what Janus would feel when he finds out the descendant of the First Heir is a Herondale. Would it affect his bond with Ash or his plans? 
• I could not handle my feelings when I found out that Raphael is alive in Thule and that he started a war because of Lily's death. I wish that there was a way they could get him from Thule so that he and Lily could finally tell each other of their feelings and be together.
• I loved seeing Kit Herondale. He was too wonderful and I love his interactions with Mina. I love how easy he bonded with Tessa and Jem and you could see that he cared for them a lot. I also love Tessa and Kit's game of Read that and Watched That.
• I love the meaning behind Mina's name. It was too touching and wonderful to read about. Although, her name is quite long. 
• I loved reading about Jem as a father. He was wonderful to Mina and they were too adorable together. He also treated Kit as a son and I love that he was the one who will teach Kit to be a Shadowhunter.

| APRIL BOOK ADVENTURE! |

In here, I will simply list all of the things I read for the month of April. The individual posts for this will be created later on (if I ever do it).

I managed to finish four books in April which is amazing because I've been kind of in a slump. This is also the first four books I read for this year.

1. The Red Scrolls of Magic by Cassandra Clare and Wesley Chu (4/5)
   • I have been waiting for this to be released so it's not surprising that this is the first book I read this year. I really love Malec and we got to see their relationship blossom in this book. I really love seeing them together.
   • It's so nice to see characters we are familiar with in the series. The timeline of this is just after Valentine's War but we get to see characters that we first interacted with in The Dark Artifice Series which is interesting. I also got to see characters that are dead in the current timeline which broke my heart so much because it was fun seeing them again.
   • The plot wasn't anything original but it was still an good enough book. It's good enough that it will motivate you to finish it but I must say that some of the events are kind of predictable.
   • We got to see Aline and Helen! OMG.

2. Best I've Ever Had by Abbi Glines (3.5/5)
   • This is the first book in the Sea Breeze and Rosemary Beach Crossover that did not make me want to kill someone. It's still not the best thing ever from Abbi Glines's books but it is the best from the Sea Breeze and Rosemary Beach Crossover.
   • I really loved Eli Hardy in the previous books and it was nice to see him get his own story. It made me mad that she made Eli went to some event that changed his personality because he was great before, and the Eli that returned seemed a little bit moody (though his reasoning is kind of valid). Eli's partner in this kind of surprised me because I did not see them together before (or maybe I just don't remember) but they were alright together. It just seemed shallow for me in the beginning that the foundation of their relationship was solidified because of sex but hey, it's an Abbi Glines book.
   • I would have given this a higher rating if the ending didn't seem so rushed. After reading it I felt, 'That was it? Meh, okay.'

3. Verity by Colleen Hoover (5/5)
• How can I begin to describe what I feel about this book? I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I really felt what a person should feel when reading a mystery/thriller book. Even after finishing it, I still don't know who is telling the absolute truth. There are so many messed up events that happened. I managed to finish this in one sitting because I couldn't wait to find out how things would unfold. And oh, boy are you in for a roller coaster ride. Colleen Hoover is really one of the best writer I have read books from.
• I have managed to read almost all of Colleen Hoover's book and this one just managed to land itself on my top 10.

In an Absent Dream by Seanan McGuire (4.5/5)
• I wasn't really fond of Lundy in Every Heart a Doorway. She seemed bitter there. It was great that we got to read a book about her journey in the Goblin Market and how it affected how she lived her life. It really affected how I felt about her. 
• I really enjoyed reading this one. The adventure was very interesting. The Goblin Market is a beautiful and dangerous place to read about. There are many rules that need to be followed and I admit I had a hard time catching up. 
• Lundy was such a complicated character to read about. We knew how she felt about the Goblin Market all throughout the series but she kept denying what she wanted for the sake of others. I love her relationship with Moon and the Archivist.
• I felt the same emotions I felt for the first book of this series which made me really happy. This was a great story and I hope we get more in the future.
